Thread: Yesterday was my first day... I'm so sore!!

    Default Yesterday was my first day... I'm so sore!!

    Yesterday I auditioned at a club. The manager said I looked awkward, but he hired me anyway. Yay! I worked for four hours, did two stage dances, and they wouldn't give me my key for the lapdances til my next shift. I was going to go in today, but I hurt so bad!! My knees are really bruised and my legs are crazy sore.


    What can I do to help? If I don't go in today, I can't work til Monday because I have to work the slow day shifts for a few weeks til I get a little more comfortable on stage. Should I soak in the tub or is there anything better I can do?

    soak in the tub would help. rub some arnica gel on your bruises, u can get it at walgreens. also do some stretching...

    Yes, take a bath and relax for the next few days. You'll be sore for a while but it gets easier. Just take care of yourself and don't run your body ragged. Massages are your friend!

    I definitely agree with hot soaks. I used to have soooo much pain in my knees from dancing, and what I was calling "permabruises" on my knees. But it gets better, I promise. Epsom salts in your baths are a natural way to soothe sore muscles. Be gentle on your knees, and build your tolerance.

    How long does it usually take for the bruises on my knees to go away? They don't hurt too horribly, but they look brutal and my friends keep commenting on them. Hehehe. Is there anything I can do to make them disappear quicker?

    i just started too and got knee pads before my second shift. go to rite aid and get the ace ones advance in black. they're like 11 50 each. helps a lotttt

    sorry, dont get knee pads. unless you are wearing them under pants and not taking your pants off, that is tacky. Sorry Heather. Try to stay off your knees as much as possible.
    Crys is right about the epsom salt. The stuff is great. And it is cheap also. Stretch and do a light exercise, like a brisk walk followed by massive strethcing. Get some lotion and rub it into your feet really well, that shoudl feel good too.
    Drinking way too much water can help your body get rid of lactic acid, the stuff that makes your muscles sore. So drink up.

    Thanks, that all helped a lot! Water has definitely been my best friend the last week!

    Sexslave: I haven't worked a night shift yet because they want me to do days til I get more comfortable, but the money has been okay. It's definitely better than when I had no job!
