Default Are there any painters here on SW?

I tried asking Y!A, but they haven't given me any good answers so far.

I want to paint the roses on this ...
    latex swim cap.

According to a site online, pools are painted with epoxy paint, chlorinated rubber base paint, and water based acrylic paint.

So, I'm assuming that if I paint it with any of those 3 the paint will not hurt the pools filters.

But which of the 3 will adhere to the latex?
Besides those 3, what paints do adhere to latex?

that was my first thought, but i dunno if it will stick to the cap. im not sure what the different is between latex paint and casting latex, but anytime i've added wet casting latex to dried casting latex it doesn't stick

i think i will do a little "paint and adhering to latex surfaces" experiment lol such a geek.

I have painted with almost every medium imaginable at one time or another, but not much underwater stuff, lol. I painted big eyes on a giant whale-shaped rock in Maine which lasted a whole summer using acrylic, but looking back I am really surprised they lasted so long.

Some acrylics will last longer than others would be my guess, but a lot will react badly to moisture. I have done bodypainting about 500 times and even minute amounts of sweat will often cause problems after a few hours.

I would try an enamel of some kind. Your best bet would be to experiment first with a spare cap and different varieties of paint.
