    Default Bare minerals

ok...so I want to try this stuff...I have a few questions:

Aside from going to Sephora (which is about an hour and a half away) how can I find the shade for me?

Does it cover under eye circles?

I know that i can read the site, but I want to hear from REAL people using it. Thanks for any responses

I use it... and it covers everything pretty well. makes my face look 10x better. not sure how you'd find the right shade... I guess you will have to look closely at the pictures and see which shade matches your face the best. Not sure if this is true... but the lady at Sephora told me that bare minerals is smart make-up so it blends easily to your skin tone.... so get a shade that looks as close to your skin color as possible and it will prob blend in.

It's the ONLY thing I use and I love it. I get so many compliments on my skin and I love hearing that I look flawless, because I know that I truly do have scars underneath. It's light weight, yet expensive. There are several websites that you can buy it off of. I got color matched at a place called Ulta. It's a makeup store. The kits come with two colors... The kit I bought was Fairly Light and Light... I actually have very olive and tan skin, but I will still LIGHT surprising. Good luck and enjoy this amazing product.

this is my makeup of choice as well. I wont put anything else on my face. For covering up dark circles use the product from them called "well rested" It is great.
I also use the fairly light group. geth the "warmth" as a really great bronzer. "bisque" is the best concealer in the world other than igia which is really thick. It is great for covering tatoos, not BM brand. WOW. I absolutly love bare minerals though. If you need any reviews on just about any of the products just ask. I think I have used them all. lol.
hmm thats a good idea, I htink I am going to go makeup shopping. lol.

It seems to make my face shiny. Any way to remedy this?
Also I have well rested for under eye circles and it seems to make them look worse.
    What am I doing wrong?

I bought Bare Minerals make-up a couple of years ago. Um, it's still sitting in my make-up drawer..My skin is pretty oily. I like at least medium coverage and BM just did not do that for me..As soon as I started to sweat, it rubbed off on my clothing immediately..IMO it is only good for you if you have non-oily skin and/or you don't sweat, like ever. But that is just my experience with it..I should have known better not to switch from my brand of choice for many years that has been working for me (and still is) which is Revlon Colorstay in Toast..

I love mneral makeup! I mix two different shades together, so buy two and experiment.

I stopped using Bareminerals Brand when I tried Jennifer Flavin Stallone's Seriesse skin care line. For roughly the same price and you get twice as much product and a free applicator brush with every pot that you buy. The makeup is milled finer than Bareminerals so it sits better on oily skin and contains less talc.

hmm, I dont know why well rested would make your eyes look worse!!! maybe you arenot putting enough on or bringing it down on your cheek far enough. Make sure you are blending it well.
To aviod the shinnieness, put on mineral veil after you ahve put on all yur makeup. It is great.
Asaineyes, I think you need to put the rev-er upper on. I think that would help with it rubbing off. also make sure you use the mineral veil on as well, that will also help avoid rubbing it off.
Now, i do have very dry skin, but Several of my girlfriends use BM as well. At least one of them has oily skin and she does not seem to have the problem but she is the one that told me to use the rever upper and the mineral veil.

I've used bare minerals but i now use L'Oreal bare naturals, it seems to work just as well. Get a different brush though, the ones included suck!

Thanks for all the great advice! I use Lemonaid right now for my circles but now my face seems to be getting uneven in color. I am going to have to make the drive and check out the makeup counter.

Forget all the other expenisve lines and try Everyday Minerals. Very inexpensive; I get great coverage with the intensive foundation; and does not contain Bizmuth or Talc at all. Great reviews on Makeupalley and Youtube. Free, generous sized samples too! Just pay shipping and you get 3 foundations, 1 blush and 1 concealer. It cost me $3.50 to get the samples sent to me.
I use Sunlight Color Corrector for my dark circles and it works beautifully. I've not had any problems with rubbing off yet. I'll post if that changes.

I love my Bare Minerals- only been using them for about a month. Not sure if it is the actual make up or the primer (that contains glycolic acid) that totally cleared up my skin, but I'M IN LOVE!

oh, sorry..that above was in response to the "shiny" question.

i also use the well-rested concealer under my eyes instead of the foundation and it's a miracle worker!

just remember to TAP OFF THE EXCESS for undereye application especially, or you'll look more wrinkly every time your eyes move.

I got mine at Sephora and loved the bronzer but when I apply the anything else, I look like I've been "antiqued." I don't like that effect but I'm probably doing it wrong.

I don't know if I am putting it on wrong, but I always use mine without the Warmth...

When I do the warmth (I use the tiniest little bit) you can tell I have makeup on, otherwise you can't.

    Tips anyone??

I pat on well rested with my middle finger. I use a tiny bit and just pat around, not rub.
About the bronzer looking to much ... after you get all your makeup on except eyes, do that last, take the buki brush, the big one, and blend it in really well with circular motion all over. That will blend it in good and get rid of any excess that you may have on your cheeks. I use a VERY small amount of bronzer as I am not very dark and just alittle bit does good. I dont use the buki brush for the bronzer i use this brush,

It allows for lighter coverage. it is also good if you have good clear complexion and just want a good foundation to even out skin tone or something.
Kaily, I think you are using too much. Make sure you are tapping off all the excess. It does not take much and like I said before, if you have any blemishes you are trying to cover use the bisqu and apply it with your finger just patting on and around the area.
Hope this helps girls. if you have any other questions, by all means ask, I have been using if forever it seems and I play with it alot.

I used to use the Bare Minerals but switched to Everyday Minerals. It's cheaper and works much better.

But...if I have one piece of advice, no matter what mineral makeup you use - invest in a GOOD BRUSH! The ones that come with the BM kit are cheap and scratchy on my face. I either use a MAC 182 or a flat-top I got from Everyday Minerals. Definitely worth the extra $$$ to get a great brush!
