Default Makeup help! (for a wedding)

I'm in a wedding in a few weeks, and I MUST look amazing (ex-boyfriend is also in the wedding party....so this is my chance to be awesome lol)

I'm looking for a good, long-wearing foundation, that provides great coverage. I'm very pale, so I need a lot of coverage to hide the blue in my face. I really love airbrushed looking skin, so nothing sheer.

Also, the bridesmaid dress and shoes I'mw earing are a deep purple. Any suggestions for what kind of shadows/lipsticks I should wear? Pictures?

My biggest suggestion in using a photo finish powder like the one's from MAC and any foundation that doesn't contain titanium dioxide. You won't notice the difference in person, but it will keep you from looking super pale in photos.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

if you want a good foundation that will last long go to the lancome counter. this is what i use in makeup school, on my clients and even in photoshoots. also apply it with a foundation brush(mac has an amazing one), makes a huge difference.

    hmmm good tips.

I'm pale, cool toned skin. I have very dark (almost black) ashy, hair, dark green eyes.

Should I go for liquid foundation, or mineral powder?

For work, I wear revlon's long wear foundation for oily skin and it's AWESOME. I fell asleep in it last night, and I swear to god it was still on in the morning.

Does this foundation keep you from being so shiny. I wear cream to powder foundation and by the end of the night Im greasy as hell.

^ yep. I just dust a little translucent powder all over my face after I put it on, and I'm never shiny. I would actually recommend that you don't use moisturizer on your face beforehand, too.

2nd the no moisturizer tip! it'll help your foundation "melt" off.

i use the revlon 16 hour wear stuff. its kinda thick, though...

I was in a wedding a few weeks ago and one of the bridesmaids got her makeup professionally done. My lady told me to make sure to go heavy on the blush because it tends to disappear in pictures. I haven't seen the pictures yet, so I don't know but that is my recommendation.

Don't use any sort of "mineral" foundation as they too can look ashy in pics!

Check out Laura Mercier's stuff too...she is known for her "airbrush look" and many brides use her products for their portraits.

I would say liquid too. Powders/mineral foundation might look too white in photos, but I'm not 100% sure...

Maybe try something with a little glow? I use Elizabeth Arden tinted moisturizer. It is very light, but leaves a glow-y finish. Sometimes I go over that with Everyday Minerals if I am going out, and that makes my skin look flawless!

Maybe go to a few makeup counters and test stuff - or ask for samples and then bring it home to try.

If the dress is purple, and you are trying to hide blu-ish tones in your skin, I would stay away from any purples or blues on your eyes. Maybe browns or bronzes? That would look nice w/the purple and be very autumny.

I prefer more of a nude lip/dramatic eye combo myself. My favorite lip is MAC's Ample Pink lipglass - perfect nude pink without looking too flesh-y or pale.

As for blush - maybe a rose or berry-ish to give you that fresh flush look? My current fave is Smashbox Blush Rush in "Charm".

Also, for that "airbrushed" look - a good brush is key. I LOOOOOVE the MAC 182 for this purpose. I buff the shit out of my face after applying foundation to get that airbrushed perfect look.

Let us know how you make out! Hope you make that boy's tongue fall out of his head droolin' over you!!!
