I've accepted that I'm just naturally a night person and always will be. I'm 36 years old. I don't have to wake up early every day, but when I do I have to force myself. Even when I have to get up early though I can't get to bed before usually 2 a.m. the night before I just am a night person. My mom is the same way. I often take naps in the afternoon to compensate for lack of sleep at night. Even when I had a steady 9 - 5 job that I had to be there for 7:00 every day I still was not adjusted. I forced myself to get up, but come the weekend I stayed up late and slept late.

    you are my people!

i have realised that i am a night person, struggling to live in a daytime life! i have been getting up for work at 7am for almost ten years, and every single day i DRAAAAG myself out of bed. every single morning i try to think of reasons to stay in bed longer. i have never got used to getting up at 7am.

...then, come nightfall and i'm alert, perky and energised: SO not ready for bed!

i've tried going to bed later, i've tried going to bed earlier, it makes no difference. my body WANTS to sleep until mid-morning or later. on the weekends i do this and i stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning. i love having dinner at midnight or 1am - it feels just right to me.

i think it's time to start listening to my body and get a night job during the week!

basically: i think you are either a night person or you're not. i have never worked nights so there's no other reason for my body clock to be this way.

That explains why, when I asked my mother to repay me the $70 she owed me for a birthday gift I'd bought for her to give to my bro-in-law, she acted like I was sticking a sword in the side of the Baby Jesus!

Fabulous post, BTW...absolutely brilliant. You echo my sentiments exactly.

I don't have much faith in the government & have serious doubts as to how much power the President has in terms of fixing the economy.

I've been a night person since I was a little girl! My Grams would always have to fight to get me out of bed and ready for school in the mornings. Once I was in middle school and I started cutting class, I never went back to school any earlier than maybe 11am. LoL. Still graduated high school though! Miraculously.

I don't fight it anymore, it's apart of me. I will get up in the morning if I'm unfortunate enough to have an early shift or gig, but besides money or something fun like catching a flight to go on vacay... I refuse.

I thought I was a morning person, but since I've been in vegas I have become a night person. I can get up early for months straight and then go back on my sleep til noon schedule like nothing. Before though, I used to have a really hard time staying up late. I really am a morning person. I love to get up when the sun rises. If you had kids to get ready for school or something you'd have no problem getting up in the mornings.
