    Default Karma Chameleon

I've thought about reinventing myself out here in the Springfield clubs, but I can't bring myself to do it. I know that alot of the girls who dance to hip hop make good $$$. Throw on bright colors and a cheerful smile. However, its just not me. I like death metal, I wear black and red with lots of spikes, etc. The only rap groups I can name are 666 mafia, for obvious reasons. I wonder if its a venture doomed from the start. Has anybody ever reinvented themselves? Did it work? if so did you stick with it?

normally I would tell you to be yourself and just hustle... but stripping is all about creating a character and being someone that these men want(so you can make more money). It's a job, so just keep that in mind. If you see the other girls making more money by dancing to hip hop, then just try it. In the music section, there is a huuuuggggeee list of hip hop songs so maybe you can download some and practice dancing to it around the house.

I feel what works best for me(most of the time... not always so I try to adjust accordingly) is to play the dumb girl role... and to be totally amused and amazed at the things these men do... outside of work I don't talk that way and don't act that way. But at work, when I walk out of the DR I get into my work character. So my advice is to see what makes money and maybe adjust a little, because after all we are there to make cash right?

Nothing wrong with trying it for one or two nights. You will see for yourself if it works or not. I like to wear neon fishnets over tight bikinies with big high heels that make my feet look small, but guys seem to fucking love it when I wear lace and ruffles. Pretty soon I'm going to have to start wearing thigh high stockings in pastel colors with those little clips that attach to garters and dig into your ass. But whatever. Its good money.

I used to be a goth chick, but 7 years later I'm the girliest of the girly. It works for me at work. I don't care about being myself at work. I care about money!

it's not about looking like everyone else... it's about appealing to more men so she can make more money.
If it turns out that she can make more money with a different style, why not try it out. I'm not myself at work.

Exactly. If you can find a club where you can be yourself AND make money - perfect!!! But usually that isn't the case. Your business as a stripper is to tailor your look to maximize your earning potential. Even celebrities paid for their presence have to dress in clothes they don't always like.

Customers aren't paying to be with you, but your persona. So create a persona they'll like and go make some mad cash! It's not 'selling out'; outside the club, you're still you.

Do you have to dance to hip-hop? What if you danced to rock or whatever? What's the clientele like?

You and me both. I listen to Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, King Diamond, etc etc. You get the picture. I am a hardcore black metal chick.

However, my current club is very strongly against rock metal of any kind. So here I am, pale, tattooed metalhead, in the middle of Hawaii, stripping to hip hop, rap, r&b, etc. Heck, we don;t even have a good metal radio station! Our best radio station is classic rock, which I love, but it's a weak signal.

I started listening to rap music in my car on the way to work. I can't stand it - AT ALL - but it helps get me into the stripper persona. Instead of wearing my vinyl and leather outfits (of which I have many, back from my BDSM clubbing days and when I used to dominatrix), I wear black outfits, but I jazz them up by wearing a bright colored garter. I also wear easy-to-remove corsets (zip up kind, not snap up) and booty shorts. Another thing that works real well is a naughty teacher look. It gives me a chance to let my inner dominatrix out.

Also, instead of booty clapping on stage, I tend to do a lot more sensual movements.

Don't lose your true self, but modify it so that it appeals to everyone. Lose the spikes, but replace it with shiny silver stuff. Lose the rivethead boots, but replace it with thigh high pole climbers. Lose the leather top, but replace it with a fancy corset. Think romanti-goth, not metalhead.

Best idea to describe stripper me is the lead singer of Lacuna Coil, Cristina Scabbia. She wears a lot of corsets on stage and is very sensual when she performs.

Being different is great if it works for you, but being what every guy wants makes you more desirable. Trust me, I hate the school girl look as much as the next dancer, but will keep wearing it because it works, plain and simple. So, dance to hip-hop, but only if you can work it.

For me, I can dance to anything and I mean anything. This always works in my favor because I want to appeal to as many people as possible and if I need to jump up on stage I'm more flexible with the music. It's all about exposure and the stage is an advertisement. The music helps at times, but not always. I keep with my default comfort zone music, but watch out I can change it up, throw you for a loop, and if the guys are tipping well on stage, take your money. It's all attitude for me.

I know some goth girls at work and when they dance to pop or hip-hop it softens they're overall hard, tough-girl image and make them more approachable. Hint: They make more money, eventhough, they hate it. Remember, songs in the top 20 or 40 are there for a reason. Use it to your advantage, especially, if the song works in a stripclub environment.

I thought this subject was about the song by Culture Club. Man- I hate that song.

Anyway, call yourself Charmin. When guys ask you why you are named after toilet paper, tell them thats not the case, it because your so squeezably soft. Ha! Ha!
Another suggestion is Chocolate Thunder.....that my all time cool Stripper name.
