Default "I like you. You have meat on you" WTF?!

I'm 5'7 and 130 pounds! Almost every night I get a guy who says something along the lines of "I don't like skinny girls. That's why I like you" or "I like that you have some meat on your bones". I AM NOT MEATY. I am a goddamned size 4! I do not have a big butt. I do have big boobs, but they're fake. My thighs are pretty thin. So are my arms. My stomach is sorta flat, I have neither a six pack or a pooch. I'm definitely not the size 00 I was when I was 20-23, but I'm on the skinny end of average! WTF?! Goddamnit. I actually had some guy say to me "Honestly, I like anorexia" after he rejected me for dance.

Does this happen to you? Why do guys say this?

i'm really thin, so i don't get that particularly, but i -do- get "backhanded compliments" like that about other things. guys will tell me "i love really small boobs" and in my head i'm thinking "jesus.. they aren't REALLY small".

it's lame, but at least it isn't just out right mean. some guys tend to think it's perfectly ok to insult skinny girls directly. i've heard shit like "no thanx, i like girls who eat".

I got this from one of the girls @ my company. I'm 5'8 and 125 lbs, a size 4 as well. We're doing a two girl show and she says to me, "I like you. I like your thickness."

    My ... thickness.

Why ... thank you. I think I'm going to go home and eat only lettuce now.

    I am exactly your proportions....5'7" and 130.

I think it's a nice way of them trying to say we look at a nice healthy weight/height proportion, but you know men.....especially when they are at a SC they have to be idiots

Um...I'm 5'4 and 130, and guys always tell me I need to GAIN weight. ???????

Personally, I don't think customers should comment on our weight at all, unless it's something like, "You're perfect." Haha.

I am 5'5" and 115 lbs and I get both sides of the spectrum......I have had guys sit with me and look at the dancer onstage (who weighs more than me!) and say "I dont like that anorexic look, thats why I like you".......and then in the same night I was on stage and a guy tipping at the rail said to me "GOD! do you EAT?!?!?"

Sooo uhhh screw it. They both gave me money and I don't care.

Trying to understand other peoples perceptions will just make you crazy.

I am a touch taller than you and around the same weight. The first time someone called me "thick", I stopped dancing was like "Did you call me fat?". I HATE being called "thick", "meaty", "big" etc. I dont have a big butt either but a man the other day called me "The cutie with the booty". WTF?!!

Truthfully (and I am not advocating you do this, it's just me personally) I am going to lose 10-15lbs, because I feel more comfortable at that weight.

I think guys honestly believe they are giving you a compliment. But damn. Use different lingo fellas. Just tell me I'm hot.

i think it also depends on where you live... because while most of you are getting offended at being called thick, around here it's a compliment.lol.

It's just your tits. Guys see those and don't see much else. I got that comment even when I WAS anorexic, just cuz I'm a (fake) 32-F.

I live in Atlanta, I'm sure it's a compliment... but it was from a RUSSIAN guy. I guess he needs me to be strong on plow and birth many babies.

I'm 5'4" and 117 lbs. And I am thick! I love it when some guys call me thick. Especially black guys or white guys that have grown-up in a predominantly black environment. They love thick girls. And I am more than happy to be that thickity-thick girl dancing for them....

I'm about the same size, too. 5'5, 135 lbs., and I rarely get customers that make comments about me being "thick". Every once in a great while, but not often. I don't know what's wrong with men......

If you are thick then I was obese. I am 5'1" and I weighed 130lbs last year. I like the weight though and I plan on getting back up there so I know what you mean.

5"10, 160lbs. I don't think I'm fat but I damn sure ain't skinny, but I get this all the time. It's usually followed by some kind of comment about how I look like a woman, not a girl.

It annoys me but I just chalk it up to most guys who come in to SC's don't have the social graces to say things and not come across as stupid and offensive.

Big boobs will always make a girl look bigger elsewhere as well, because they make the eyes scan in a circular motion rather than looking straight up and down. Kinda hard to explain, but basically, they're like an optical illusion.

I don't think 'you have meat on you' is an insult at all!!! It's like saying you're a REAL woman, not a 10 year old kid.

Thumbs up Re: "I like you. You have meat on you" WTF?!

...to the 5'4" dancer who weighs 117 and calls herself "thick",you sound quite slim to me,but i have an idea of what you mean...when i was a newbie dancer and at what i thought was my best weight 5'4",110,i had guys call me "reubenesque". but ladies,i think when a guy calls you "thick" it is meant as a compliment, another word for curvy or shapely. And guys talking about your "booty",while i guess "booty" has the connotation of being a "big booty",really booty comes in all sizes. guys don't always say the right thing and most of us are very sensitive about body issues, but not all the guys are mean, sometimes let's look for the compliment beneath the social blunder-ha ha. and yes, beauty comes in all sizes...check out the designs by mode merr and you'll see sexy from xxs-xxl and beyond. cheers!!! harlow

really? you're thick? I weigh more than you, same height, and am still pretty slim looking. do you carry most of your weight in your bottom half?

I have serious Tits and Ass. 32DD and my butt has always been very present. I also have these thighs that I have to constantly work on. I am very petite and shapely. I have always been referred to as thick... I once starved myself down to 105 lbs, and for about 6 months I was called skinny. But, I am just way to hungry to keep that unrealistic weight.

I get these comments nightly, lol. I honestly think that guys just dont care about what adjectives they use when speaking about a females weight, because guys usually are TRYING to complement me when the call me "big" or not skinny. Curvy or voluptuous are more female friendly but men dont always think to use those words, lol. Im 5'5 135 . I make $$ and like my body. I was down to 118 lbs and still got called thick because of my big ole ass, lol. i paid good $ for boobs to match the big butt and lipo'd my tummy so its super flat. But still im "curvy". Some of my fav. comments have been:

"See a big girl can be sexy! My girlfriend thinks only skinny girls are sexy because shes skinny, i wish i could show you to her." (i asked how much she weighed he said like 98 or something. so to her yeah, guess im a big girl, lol).

"That little bit of celulite on your ass that you can see when the light hits it on stage is soooooo sexy! " I couldnt be mean to the dude because he was actually really actractive and all goo goo eyed over me...but i also couldnt bring myself to say thanks either.

Then a week later when a custie was telling him how i was "absolutely perfect" i told him about the cellulite comment to which he responded "oh but cellulites in in some countries like the DR and PR, you should be proud if you have it". Im not in those places at the moment,LOL.

I get the "thick" comments, and while I don't particularly like that term, I know guys mean it as a compliment. And it's only because I am big in comparison to the stick skinny, truly anorexic, girls we have at my club. It IS a compliment, because I would never want to look the way they do.

I'm sure they like the way they look, but heroin chic just isn't what most men are into. And unless my jeans stop fitting and my thighs get jiggly, I'm not going to worry about backhanded comments from guys who really are just trying to be nice.

I dunno. The way I grew up, being called thick was an amazing thing, and I love when I hear it at work or otherwise.

It's definitely a compliment in my mind. I wish I heard it more often. Thick is a good thing. I'm hearing it more now that I have gained some weight. I used to sit next to thick girls and feel so scrawny and insecure about that. Now I am getting my weight back after not being as stressed as I once was. Thick is so sexy.

    ^^ Haha, me too!

Up until a few years ago I was always (naturally) severely underweight. Like, 5'9" and 110 pounds with bones popping everywhere underweight.

People always commented on it, and while a lot did so out of envy, I really hated it. I just wanted to be acknowledged for ME, not my skinniness.

Now I weigh in the 150's, and when guys tell me I'm thick, it's like a huge badge of honor. Hell, I take it as a compliment if guys turn me down for not being skinny enough : P.

Um...wow, then I must be a chunker! I'm curious to see what "thick" looks like to you. And, even more so, I'd like to see what a lot of these guys who call 5'7 and 130lbs "thick" are smoking, haha. I would call that "slender."

Also, there might be something to that bigger boobs equals thick theory....cuz guys usually tell me I'm too thin when they're looking at me head on. (I'm a 34A.) When they see my backside it's a whole other story, hehe.
