I have been thinking about dancing for a long time. A friend of mine danced at a fairly upscale joint in town and made a ton of money, which initially peaked my interest. The problem is, I am very curious about the workings of the industry, and I can't get straight answers out of her to save my life. There is only so much research I can do on my own before needing information from people who have stripped before I can make my decision. I need to kind of know what to expect.
I am a college student at a very intensive institution, however I have a month and some long winter break. I have heard that some clubs initially require a set schedule then you can choose your own hours. Would it be worth auditioning to work for that month? Could I continue on only a couple days a week after the spring semester starts? Would it ruin my chances of ever working at the club again if I had to quit after that month because of school? Would it be better to let them know that I may only be able to work for the month during the interview, or would it make them waaay less inclined to hire me?
What about over wear? I believe the establishment is not a gown club, however it seems silly to me to go on stage so scantily clad that there is nothing left to imagine anyway. What is commonly worn over the bra/panties? Dresses? How long? Is it better to have separates for more prolonged teasing? Any websites that have examples would be awesome.
Oh man....I apologize for the onslaught, any responses will be greatly appreciated. I just needed to stop obsessing in my head and get useful information.
xo
PS. I know it depends on the club, I just want to know what you all have experienced or think based on the clubs you've worked at.
