How many strippers on here make enough to live on your own?
How many strippers on here make enough to live on your own?

I think you'll find a good number. If I hadn't danced I wouldn't be able to afford college to get a better day time job. During college I lived on my own while dancing. Now I own my home. I wouldn't change my choice for anything.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

As oppose to what? At home with mommy? IMO If you are shaking your ass, and not making enough to afford at least an apt, you're doing smthg wrong...(BTW, lots of strippers on here own their own houses, some several)
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?
Thanks you guys for responding, because i am definitely looking forward to having my very own place. I asked this question also because I see all this stuff about fees for housemoms, djs, renting chairs n stages and I was getting confused thinking like how do they have any money at the end of the day if they have to make quotas and pay everyone. but keep your replies coming
as long as you're in a decent club and you're hot you will make good money. During the summer(when I didn't have to worry about school) I was saving allllllll the cash I was making stripping and lets just say I have gone months w.o working and did just fine.
there is sooo much money in this business. Just be smart with it and you will do great. :-)
I say it all the time, but only because it's true... I wish I would've found stripperweb when I first started... there is alot of good info on this site!

Stripping paid for college, an apartment, books, computer, clothes - lots of clothes, food, a car, and one heck of a graduation trip. Not to mention it gave me enough money in the bank to put down a nice payment on my first house.

Own my home and bought a car new and paid it off. Im single so no help here.
on most nights the fees shouldnt feel like much of anything. If i cant clear an AVERAGE of $200-$300 per night in a week for a long term period, then its time for a new club or profession for me.
Your going to have higher and lower the avg. is my concern. Ive not had to quit dancing so yeah, its lucrative if you know what your doing. If you just sit in the club like a loaf you can lose $$.
ive only had like under 10 nights in the past 3 years where i was hurting due to fees themselves.

Are you kidding? No offense to anyone, but if I wasn't making enough money to pay for school, my luxury apt, my lexus, and put a large chunk into savings - I wouldn't be putting up with pathetic/disgusting men drooling on my tits every night.![]()

Amen to that!
Different strokes for different folks. Everyone's toleration level and success level is different. Dancing is not for everyone. This is a sink or swim business. The only way to know for sure is to jump in and give it a try. Then you'll know what you can and cannot afford. Set your own goals and grow at your own pace. Does the pros outweigh the cons to consider this as a profession? That answer differs for many...
Good Luck and Happy Hustling!![]()

I live with my boyfriend, but I could definitely live on my own. But before I started stripping, we were struggling to pay our bills and couldn't afford to go to school. But since I started stripping, I bought a new(er) car, moved into a nicer apartment and I'm able to put us both through school. I'm not a top earner, either, but I know I do better than a lot of girls at my club. So yeah, if you do it right, getting your own place is very possible.

ive been on my own for 4 years, supported my kids, bought 3 cars, paid high ass rent, and went to disney world 3 times,AND,to top it off, supported a cocaine addict. yeah, couldnt do it on my own if it wasnt for pervert men! now it would be SUPER great if i didnt have to do it on my own.

This thread makes me feel very good about going to audition (take 2) next week...
I have the same "How will I make any money?" type feelings.. but I mean if strippers didn't make money, there would be no strippers.
I don't need to support myself right now (college fund), so instead I'm saving 40-50% of what I make.
But, I could easily afford to live completely independently if I needed to (working 2 nights a week). I could very easily pay for school, a nice apartment, extra food, etc. etc. by myself.
Currently, I live very conservatively. I don't buy clothes, I have a stable (but not luxury) car, a regular college apartment, and don't party. There isn't anything wrong with any of those things, but I've decided to save my $$ instead of living luxuriously.
Even if you only make $100/night (which would be pretty terrible for most strippers), you can live independently by being smart about your money. So don't feel a lot of pressure to bank every night, even if stripping is your only job.
Thanks you guys for responding, this is really good info for me,I ask this because I am so nervous and I am itching to be able to get out and be on my own for once,to actually pay for everything by myself. Like ms clairevoyant says this really makes me feel a whole lot better. To Charlie 61, thats really good advice as well to not feel pressure to live lavishly .

"Even if you only make $100/night (which would be pretty terrible for most strippers)"
I would cry with joy if I was able to make 100 a night. (I haven't started working yet only done amatur nights and stuff).
Seriously, if this is the low end of the spectrum Im gonna cry with joy. If I could make more than that, it would blow my mind...
At one point, I lived alone in NYC, dance 3 nights a week and had enough to pay rent, tuition, bills, save, etc. I live at home now for personal reasons, but I'm considering moving out again. I wouldn't be able to do that if I weren't dancing.

I've never really tried, but I could. I used to have room mates, and now I'm engaged and living with him. I prefer more company and less pressure. Before you move out, make sure you have at least 6 month's rent in the bank and DON'T EVER TOUCH it!
You don't want to stress out, scrambling to sell enough dances to pay for bills, rent, food, whatever a week before it's due. It's easy to think that the money will be endless, but it's not. There are bad nights, bad seasons, and it's all too easy to snap a bone or sprain an ankle, and strip clubs aren't exactly known for giving health insurance or paid time off.

When it comes to money and living expenses, it is so individual. The problem with dancing is the unpredictability of the business. Also, though it sounds weird, money isn't everything when it comes to financial stability. I'm talking resume, insurance, investments, etc. I'm now a nurse, and though my real flow of cash is probably less than a few dancers, I actually have financial capital like I never realized when considering the benefits, the security, the credit rating due to income, etc. So, not to down dancing (trust me, I still dance sometimes for the extra cash), but I just want to warn those who think that a Lexus (which depreciates with each mile) necessarily means financial hoopla. It's kind of scary, the dancers I now see struggling while still appearing to have it all on the outside. The outside stuff often isn't the stuff of wealth. That said, don't dance if you can't dance and at least earn rent. Maybe you can live at home, not the issue, but the issue, to justify not being on the career ladder, you better earn some major bucks dancing . You've got to earn a lot more so you can pay tuition or save for retirement at 40 or so.

Merry and Margo made EXCELLENT points. I would also recommend getting a day job. Money is not always steady. I have seen your other posts also, you are talking about buying $1775 shoes and their $100 knock offs and asking about cars. If you do not live on your own or have a car you should not be considering either pair. So save up, it completely depends on the person. I could be wrong but it seems you think Stripping will be your knight in shining armor.

I agree. Just in general not just dancing. My main job is pizza delivery, and I've done it for 4 years now. It's a definite pattern that on days I really am hurting making bills or rent, or whatever, the tips do not come at all. Yet days I have money in the bank, am feeling good, no worries, etc, those 5 and 10 dollar tips just flow in.
Ever seen the movie The Secret? It's just law of attraction. Desperation =negative energy. Negative energy = less money.
I hope to make some money dancing. But for me, it's crazy thinking of buying expensive brand name things and nice cars, etc. I don't care about any of that shit. All I would buy are some cute outfits to dance in and maybe one different pair of stripper shoes. I don't care about my normal clothes at all, I live in wife beaters and jeans and boots lol.
All I want money for is to travel the world, take care of my body and eat well! Screw material things! Plus I'm so used to being poor, thats why when someone said 100 a night would be shitty I'm like holy shit.. I made 7 bucks in tips at my job today.. that would be livin large for someone like me...
If you aren't a stripper, it's easy to look from the outside and say "OMG, I'd kill to be making that much money!" But it's likely that, with time, making $100 a night will seem just as shitty to you as it already does to the established strippers on this site.
True, that's what you go home with. But stripping costs money to do (you have to maintain your appearance, etc), and it can take an enormous emotional/physical toll also. So yes, $100 for pizza delivery would be ridiculous money. But stripping is a whooooole different ball game.
I'm sure you realize that already, but you'll really feel it when you start working. I started off with the same attitude you have. You will change.
I don't mean that to sound patronizing, but it's true.
**This is also the reason why so many girls get into stripping and end up spending assloads of the money that they make. They go from regular jobs (slow money), which are reliable, but also reliably low-paying (in comparison) to stripping (fast money) which isn't reliable, but can be extremely high-paying. They go "AH! I made $734 tonight! I should treat myself!" and end up in debt because they forget that stripping isn't an oasis of wealth. It might seem unthinkable from the outside, but fast money is quickly spent.

True, but then again I spend a lot maintaining my appearance anyway. I agree though, a hundred a night isn't much for getting naked for strange men!
