me? I kept asking my husband if this was real. I really didnt want to come down from my high! I asked about 10 times to make sure I wasn't dreaming then I screamed over and over and over "yes, yes woooooo yes!"

Then I started crying extremely hard and couldn't stop! I cried happy tears! I feel like there is nothing I can't do and nothing I wont try! I feel FUCKING AMAZING!

i was scared. my legs were shaking. i dont know if i was scared for obama or for myself. i still dont know. i watched his speech. he neglected to mention the "people" watching in iraq, which is VERY upsetting to me. it was breakfast time for them, they voted and deserve an acknowledgment when you are thanking people for supporting you. people in iraq voted for him, including my husband. i dont know. at first i was scared but now i feel refreshed and have accepted it. i am optimistic and proud. emotional too. i guess deep down in me there is a patriot.

i heard screaming in the dorm hallways ( i saw a headline on cnn but didn't believe it cause i thought it was too soon)....and then my roommate came running and said, "you kno obama won right?!!?!?"

i didn't belive her at first.... but she started screaming and i started running with her and then all i know is we were both running on the street screaming and tearing up.... i heard horns honking and people holding signs out thier car windows. Hundreds of college students were running down the philly streets...it was amazing

i've never been this happy before... i feel like everything my ancestors worked for wasn't in vain...i feel like we made it...we did it...we changed history.... and i was a part of all of it....

    hehe, i started screaming too.

my hubby was upstairs kissing the kids goodnight, i ran down to get a blanket and take a peak at the tv and he had hit just over 280..abc called it, so i switched to nbc for a second opinion and they said it too.

i just started screaming "he got it he got it!!!!!!"

my husband says "really??? hell yea!"

I don't even live in the USA and I am so choked up, and very proud. I believe it finally represents a change in the world and means so much to black and white people equally.

I responded like Oprah and Jesse Jackson and many other proud Americans. I was overwhelmed with emotion, tears uncontrollably formed in my eyes and still do when I think about that proud moment. It will be remembered as one for a lifetime. Go Obama!

HE MENTIONED THEM....he said something like...."as we're here celebrating, there are our troops in the battle fields..."....something like that, he DID acknowledge them...that was one of the first things i noticed.

I was like "Wow. Something I thought would never happen in my lifetime just did".

I think it is a marker that things are going to turn around, that the bad times have reached critical mass and now it's going to change. My history teacher told me that Bush has literally beat out Grant as being the worst President ever. I think we needed to wash our hands of that era. I feel like he's going to be a great President and inspire a lot of people to join the ranks of productive contributors of society when they would feel discouraged to do so otherwise.

I feel like America was dying under the weight of it's own greed and imperialism, and this might be the marker that we are changing to a kinder, gentler, more diverse and less divisive society.

Goose bumps quickly halted by a very positive (fist slamming) feeling of "now we can get things back on track, god darn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The goose bumps was more of a joining-in with the reactions being shown in the crowds. The stronger feeling was things CAN now start to get better.

I went driving around after work with my friends and we were videotaping everyone in Pittsburgh going nuts. Singing. Dancing. Beeping. Hugging. We had huge cans of glitter and we were throwing it everywhere. People were running up to our car to be sprinkled with glitter. We went to a club and people were crying and cheering, huddled in the streets cooking up some awesome food and dancing. We glittered everyone and everyone was lighting firecrackers in the streets.

A man told me about being active in the sixties and helping to register black people to vote back then and he had dozens of friends murdered by racists. He said it was the happiest moment in his life. He said all of his work had come to fruition and he could now rest because he needed it. I felt so happy. Surreal.

    Proud.

Damn, I wish I was back home. Pittsburgh-born, but I'm a military brat, so I was raised everywhere, so I had to re-adopt PA as home.

How did you feel? what was your immediate reaction?
    I shrugged my shoulders.
All I can do is wait.
Atleast I dont have the same sense of "doom-&-gloom" from this that I had with the last 4 elections.
I just dont think either party put their best candidate forward.
    Edit:
And to those afraid of McCain dying, you shouldnt be.
Just look at our current vp.
He TRIED to die a few times, and couldnt.
So I have faith that we would have had another republican not doing the job right if he were elected.

Worried! even though I'm not from the USA I don't think Obama is going to bring much "change" .. I can't really explain why but he seems too good to be true and reminds me of a door to door sales man so yeah, worried..
