    Default Bruises - Help!

Ok, don't kill me if somewhere someone has asked this. I did a search, I didn't find anything except for references to bruises not about bruises themselves.

I've been dancing for 4 mos now. I constantly leave the club with bruises down my legs. Now that Im starting to do pole tricks they're even worse and some nights I have bruises on the insides of my knees and thighs, and even on the top of my one foot that I goes against the pole when Im upside down. One of the girls told me it would stop happening once my skin got used to it but that hasn't happened. I use arnica on them but its not like a miracle cream that makes them instantly go away. Did this happen to anyone else even months into it? Does it ever stop? I expected it in the very beginning but I feel like it makes me look trashy. It keeps me from being able to wear skirts when I go out and stuff because my legs are so beat up. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something better to use than Arnica?

Thanks for any help or advice. It would be much appreciated.

I'm assuming you're light skinned and just a girl the bruises easily. I teach pole dance classes and have students, esp. when they're just starting out, that have the same problems with the bruising.
PINEAPPLE JUICE. Add it to your diet. Drinkink it really works. Something in it cuts down the bruising.
Also, what might help is wearing something on your legs. I wear thigh high boots to protect my legs, love them. But if that is too much for you, just wearing the leg warmers or thick thigh high stockings might serve as some protection on your legs when crawling around the stage.

I second the pineapple juice. Can't remember why it's meant to work but it does anyway.

That's really weird. I drank a huge thing of pineapple juice today and then I saw this thread. lol

I get bruises horribly too. After I did amatur night a few weeks ago, my legs were HORRIFIC the next day. I seriously don't even know what did it. I crawled around on stage and stuff but I didn't slam my legs into anything and I didn't do the pole. Both my knees were black and blue and I had smaller blue bruises all up and down my shins and thighs. I looked like I got beat up.

I'm fair skinned too and what sucks is they can take MONTHS to fully go away. I'm full of rage. I will start pineapple daily and hopefully it will help, I hear it has other benefits too!

Hey do you guys use only fresh pineapple or is the canned juice ok?

Arnica tablets & the gel is a miracle. I buy the chew tables & eat them before work. After work I put on the gel. The next day as well. Not only does it help with soreness, it really helps keep bruises at bay. Whole foods should have it as well as trader joe's. Or buy it online or on ebay.

I don't think it would make any difference which type of pineapple juice you have. I usually have the type in cartons but from concentrate, not freshly squeezed.
