I am 4'11" is that too short to be a dancer?

I am super short but not petite. I have a stocky athletes build kind of like a gymnast but a little less ripped . Is that going to hinder me finding a job?

I actually think it would make you do better. You do not want to be a dime a dozen in these clubs. At my club the few short girls we had did well.

I'm only 5' tall and I do just fine. I get asked constantly if I was a gymnast. Alyssa Chase is only 4'11, and Robyn Foxx is only 4'10. They're both pretty popular features.

Dancers must be between 5'2" and 5'7". If you aren't between these heights, you will not make money.

Spiffy. I was joking about the height requirement, because if I have to be 5'7 in 8" heels, I think I'm screwed, lol.

I'm 4'11" also. And I've never had any issues finding work because of my height. T.T

Shoes are your friends. If you can dance in the really tall ones, 7" and higher, the shoes fetish guys will love you. Plus, you could play up the school girl look. Just thinking outloud.

I'm 5' 1". A lot of men like short girls. I wore those big tall 7-8 inch shoes for a while but most of my career I wore 5 inch pumps and really played up the short girl factor. Plus, the way you described yourself, it sounds like you have a nice body which is very suited to short girls.

As a customer, I have to second this. Your height is not even a tiny problem (har-har-har), but the way you describe your build, it could be.

The only way to know is to get out there and try it. Good luck.

I'm the same height and never had a problem. But your figure is important.

I have a Jessica Rabbit type of figure, and used to be quite ripped, although i softened out when i was dancing because i got fed up of the guys talking about me like i was a race-horse and with the muscle love, but from the way you describe yourself you don't have a chest or waist?! Impossible to tell without a photo or better description (if your body is going to be your tool for work then you need to give it an honest appraisal - no room for modesty).

You'll never know if you don't try. It's not about height or body type. It's about hustle. Although, being a full package that every man loves and adores never hurts. You'll never know what works and doesn't until you step out into that world and see what most guys are saying about you...

I'm 5'9" - which I think is a huuuuge disadvantage to me. In clubs where guys tend to stand up a lot, I tower over them, and most of them get really turned off by that. It's intimidating to most men! That tall = sexy thing? It's mainly women and gay men who think that. Whats sexy to the fashion industry isn't sexy to the average straight man.

I think men PREFFER short girls. Being short gives you a major advantage because even with your shoes, you'll be shorter than most men, which they'll love. Men think short girls are more approachable and cute. Being 'cute' means you can get away with a lot of things too : P. You could pull off a bitchy/bossy hustle and men would find it endearing. Whereas I would be marked a 'dragon lady' if I tried that approach.

Don't believe me? The top earners at most every club I've worked have been super short. Pretty much everyone at my current club struggled to break $100 on Saturday night. Several couldn't do that even. But our shortest dancer made over $1100. I sat there and watched her count that $$$ - a little over $1100 !!!

Get out there and start banking!
