Default Best NYC Clubs at the moment?

Hey ladies! I did a search but it doesn't seem to be current info out there.

I have a buddy who lives in Manhattan who said if I wanted to come out to work I could stay at their place. I've never been to NYC and would love to go on a working vacation.

That being said, which clubs are the best ones to work at currently? By "best", I mean good security, good management, and can turn a decent profit. I'd come out for likely 7 days and I'd like to clear $2k for the week.

What are average house fees, and do you require a permit?

Thanks in advance, I apologise if this is redundant!

consider the facts of the situation ...

the upscale Manhattan clubs have typically relied on stockbrokers / bankers / corporate hq workers / foreign businessmen etc. as the source of big bucks. ALL of these have been hard hit by the economic downturn.

I work in Manhattan at Rick's Cabaret. I have heard decent things about Lace, Penthouse, and Hustler, but I haven't visited. (I've heard a bunch of rotten things about them all too but that's par for the course.)

I feel safe and well-treated by the staff at Rick's and find the place to be clean and well kept. The girls are mostly foreign but are more indifferent than unfriendly. Bonus: free coffee & nibbles in the dressing room.

Now, I only worked 1 weekend before the market crashed, so I don't have a huge basis for comparison. But I think that if you work 7 days and have more experience than me (i.e. any) there is no way you wouldn't clear $2k.

Things to keep in mind: many Manhattan clubs do not let you work the day you audition, or even the next day. I had to wait most of a week to begin, and could not work Wed/Thurs shifts for a month. Call ahead! Also, Rick's has an 8-hour minimum shift. 7 days of that and you might need crutches to get home.

I don't know about other places, but between house fee and mandatory tip-outs it's usually $120-$160 for me.

Tell us if you end up going! If you want more about my place, PM me.

Oh - no permits. You will need a drivers license and a social security card.

I would only point out that if 'clearing' $2k a week means achieving a net income after taxes and expenses of $2k that's not likely to happen. Sure you can 'gross' $2k, but between federal + state + local income taxes the gov't will try and take at least 1/3rd of that. You then have to deal with the very high cost of living in NYC, which if you don't permanently move there will probably set you back at least $150 a day 'on the cheap'.

Don't worry, if I go I have a free place to stay and would buy groceries for the week.

    Hi Calico,
I have been trying to find more info about ny. I was particularly interested in rick's and some other clubs (have yet to check out though)
how long have you been working there?
What is the average money like?
8 hour shift seems very long!

I would think in NYC a hustler at a good club should be able to pull 600-800 on a weekday (in 8 hour shift) and well over a G on weekends.
    Am I way off????
I am definitely a hustler ~ okay with minimal contact...but absolutely no extras of any kind! (including foot jobs! what's up with dude's asking for foot jobs lately? LOL! - for real though)

posted at another thread too, just trying to get some sort of idea what the money is like up there, and if it would be worth me commuting over 2 hours each way to get there.

    Hi Ann,

I don't know about average money. All I know is what I make. Sometimes I pull that, but more often I don't.

Yes, probably about $150/day and that is with crashing at a friend's flat.

Agree to with the $$$ comment post financial issues.

I was visiting at Hustler the other day [a Wednesday] and it was D.E.A.D. -dead compared to what it use to be like only a few months ago on a Wednesday night.

We had one of our large private parties planned for mid-Dec. We send out pre-invite notice to test the waters on interest. We figure a minimum positive response of 600 men to get 300 through the door. Our turn out to RSVP response is always around 50% for the guys. We didn't get enough of a response from our member base, which are the same people Melonie mentions above, to make it worth while pulling the trigger on the party so we did just that and cancelled going forward with it.

We'll try again after the New Year and see if its any better but I'm not holding my breath.

Its going to be very hard for NYC area based dancers to make any real coin very soon because this is only going to get worse before it gets close to being any better.
    Fiat justitia, pereat mundus.

BTW, while we are on the subject, is it needed to point out the obvious: That it is just possible that if you are willing to judge the worth of someone simply by what you read on a website about them it might say a whole hell of a lot more about you than it says about the person you are judging?

Ten's Cabaret is great right now...the staff is amazing, the girls are real girls you can be friendly with and talk to on a regular basis. Business isn't good but it's not as bad as some places, and the economy sucks right now. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Ten's.

I've heard great things about Rick's Cabaret...A lot of girls that work at Ten's work there, so I'm sure it's similar.

Penthouse and Hustler are well known clubs but I don't think they're doing well either right now...I think it's honestly the allure of working at these places that attracts girls...But I'm sure they'd be doing well otherwise but they have ridiculous house fees...I've heard around $200 a night or so and if you can pull that in this economy then it seems like a waste

^^^^It looks like there is a problem getting their checks cashed. Do they give you the option of receiving your money in cash?

No they do not (the club) , but I've talked customers into giving me actual cash for the private rooms, but that's starting to become a rarity because of the economy and etc...and yeah that is a HUGE problem...But I mean eventually you'll get the money, it will take like a month or so. And from what I've heard they've gotten better at the whole funny money situation.

A friend and I went to visit a couple of clubs on Sunday-Rick's Cabaret and Hustler. Rick's had a decent crowd, lots of girls giving dances on the floor but I didn't see anybody going upstairs to the VIP rooms. Hustler, surprisingly, was kind of dead. Tons of girls, about half of whom were just sitting on the sidelines doing nothing. A few girls giving dances but it didn't seem like the guys were that into it. Saw a few girls go upstairs, though. I just thought it was odd that Rick's seemed busier. We were also going to go to Penthouse but they were closed.
It definitely seems like the economy has hurt the business, especially in the NYC/NJ area. And this is usually the best time of the year in this region, maybe it will pick up within the next week or so but honestly, I don't think it's going to be anything like Christmases past

I doubt this girl wants to travel across the country to work for two weeks to get a little cash in hand, then go home and wait a month or more for her checks to arrive. And I thought you said you worked for these people currently--what do you mean you "heard" they've gotten better at the whole funny money situation?

Best clubs from my experience this trip:
Hustler and flashdancers. Ricks is hot too but I haven't worked there. I checked out the new sapphire NYC last night and it was pretty but not as packed as I hoped.
    Good luck!

    kiki welcome back to NYC..

My 2cents info from some of my girls on the street is Hustler is where it's at right now. But they have been working there for more than 1 year so know the lay of the land so to speak.

I haven't worked there long enough to make a fair comparison. I'm just going off what girls have said who have been there longer than me and have had more experience with the funny money situation. And I'm just saying what the club is like, from what I've experienced.
