Default and you thought that the election put this question to bed for good !!!

(snip)"SACRAMENTO, Calif.- A former opponent of Barack Obama's has come back to haunt him over questions regarding Obama's citizenship.

According to a press release from the American Independent Party, former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and other members of the party have filed suit in California Superior Court in Sacramento to stop the state from giving its electoral votes to President-elect Barack Obama until documentary evidence is provided to prove Obama is indeed a natural born citizen of the United States."(snip)

I don't know why Obama doesn't just produce the document (and I don't mean some photoshopped internet version ) if he can. His failure or reluctance to do so only raises questions and empowers those that are challenging him.

I don't know what we'd do if he was found to be a fraud. I've already resolved myself to him taking office. What would be done? Give it to Biden? My God, how bad would that be?

Obama has come forward with prima facie evidence of his U.S. birth.
The burden is, and has been, on those challenging the bona fides of his citizenship. Unless they can PROVE he was born outside the U.S., not only should the suit be dismissed but all involved should be heavily fined for wasting everyone's time with total nonsense.

Damn Eric. I'm not used to agreeing with you but lately I find myself saying "yup" more and more often when reading your posts.

Alan Keyes is a moron. This idiot is so well disliked that he ran for senator of Illinois (against Obama) and most of the well known Republican politicians in Illinois (most moderate) publicly said they were voting for Obama. Alan Keyes never even lived in Illinois before his run (which he lost in a large landlside).

Not true. A copy some consider suspicious was posted on a website. I'm not saying its bogus , but it is not proof of anything. If his citizenship is solid, why hasn't he just produced it during one of his interviews, to put the topic to rest once and for all.

There are also those out there who suspect the reason he won't make public his transcripts is not that his grades weren't good, but that he is listed as a foreign student.

Personally, I'd rather see his detractors attack him on more substantive issues.

Just so you know, you would only be listed as a foriegn student if you were on a study permit. I went to high school / college with a good friend from Finland, she lived here since she was 7....none of her transcripts say that..

^^^^ I am only reporting what I read awhile back and I'd bet transcripts differ from school to school. Schools that are recognized worldwide ( like those in the Ivy League) and which have a more international student body could be more likely to show nation of origin on official records, but that's just guesswork on my part.

It's one thing to agree politically and philosophically with the right wing or conservatives. I usually do. It's quite another to buy into the latest cause celebre of the lunatic fringe. I don't blame Obama for not dignifying this nonsense with a response. Neither would I. More importantly, the burden is NOT on him. It's on those who claim he was born outside the U.S. They're the ones who have to PROVE IT ! So far, they have not come close.

If he wasn't born in Hawaii then where was he born ? Kenya ? Never went there until well into adulthood. Indonesia ? Didn't go there until he was in grade school.
Both of Obama's parents were DOCUMENTED as being IN the U.S. when he was born.

These nuts have to get used to the idea that Obama won and he's now the Prez.
Some of them are amazingly childish in their inability to accept it.

Actually, the thing is though, any paperwork would have the country to which you are a citizen displayed, regardless of where you were born. I mean think about passports.....if you are a citizen that was born elsewhere, you still have an American passport, right?

Absurd. The onus is on the accusers, not Obama ...

We all know my feelings towards Obama, but this makes no sense at all and should be used as public ridicule material for years to come.

well keep in mind that, except for the original Berg lawsuit, the purpose of these other lawsuits is to shift the burden of proof onto state election officials to prove to state voters that they have investigated and validated Obama's 'natural born' citizenship status as required by the US Constitution for any qualified presidential candidate before certifying that state's electoral votes for Barack Obama. As there are now lawsuits along similar lines in several states which Obama won, it appears that this is a co-ordinated effort to force the Federal Elections Commission to seriously investigate Obama's birth records.

I would also add that, while this clearly falls into the area of a 'legal technicality', there is a big difference between being a US citizen and a 'natural born' US citizen. If Obama was in fact born in Kenya with the birth later registered in Hawaii, because his father was not a US citizen, and because his mother was not over the age of 18 at the time of his birth, 'natural born' US citizenship status is NOT a given.

Well, as competitive as the Ivy League is, he might have claimed Indonesian or Kenyan citizenship to gain admittance. Remember, we've never seen a transcript so we don't really know what caliber of student he was. As such schools look for diversity in their student body and are very competitive, he would get bonus points for coming from either of those countries.

True, he is the Prez, and I'm not suggesting he should be invalidated because of these accusations, but his refusal to produce the documents seems to me to be a lot like "taking the 5th" and that does imply guilt even though its not supposed to.

As far your other facts, they are just things you've read, no more or less reliable than anything else you or I have read.

He alone really does have the power to make it all go away. Just produce the documents and say " see, I told you so. Now let me do what I was elected to do".
Any explanation for why he wouldn't do that?

Why should he dignify this nonsense ? Doesn't he have more important things to do ? Maybe he's completely confident these nuisance suits will be dismissed.

Agreed If these people aren't happy with the copy that can be found online, the official statement from the state government of Hawaii saying the document is real and he is a citizen and the other evidence that all this is bullshit, I seriously doubt they will be happy if he held up a copy of his birth certificate at a press conference and said, "See? This is my birth certificate, I am a citizen".

If there was any truth to this at all, it would have been brought out way before this and by more credible people (and not complete nutjobs).

I heard there were like 15 suits filed. By not responding to them he only adds fuel to the fire. The copy online has imperfections ( or so they say ) .

I'm not saying he's not a citizen but I can't see why he isn't more forthcoming if there isn't something to it..

^^^ yes there are several other lawsuits in other states. For example, a North Carolina suit is being brought by a member of the US military, who has 'standing' for bringing such a lawsuit since Barack Obama's future orders may in fact require this person to kill someone. If in fact those orders were issued by a commander in chief who was not constitutionally qualified to be commander in chief, then the 'chain of command' would fail and this person could potentially be charged with murder for acting under those unlawful orders.

As I posted earlier, the collective intent of all of these lawsuits is to force the Federal Elections Commission to seriously investigate Barack Obama's 'natural born citizen' status.

The upside is Larry Sinclair is publishing a book. Considering what he has gone through I hope he makes some money off the drama.

It's all a last gasp effort to deny the Presidency to a Democrat after an unambiguous election. Finally.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
