The line up for has already been decided for the next TWO Olympics, thats how it works.
Also one sport has to be removed for another to come in.
And ya ask me, if any Pole like activity deserves to be in something like the Olympics, its Chinese Pole.
A civilian spends money to look good
A stripper looks good to make money
A civilian may be after your wage
A stripper laughs at your wage
Right, I'd quite like to see pole dance remain pole dance.
I love Chinese Pole and am trying to learn it but let's be honest - it's isn't graceful and pretty - pole dance should remain our art and remain beauitiful and flowy.
It could turn out like men and women's gymnastics: chinese pole for men, more dancy flowy pole work for women...
That would be cool.

rhythmic gymnastics is graceful and flowy, and a relatively recent addition to the olympics-- also physically demanding, though not quite to the level of pole dancing at a highly athletic level.

I genuinely hope it doesnt get there!
While I hope for the global acceptance of Pole Dancing...I dont want it to be disected to become a Olympic Sport!
I want pole to be pole...fun, sexy, challenging and rewarding!

Great another instructor (from the vid) who laughs at girls who take their clothes off. Getting kinda sick of those.

^^Join the club!!! It is amazing how they will try...and hopefully not succeed!
I do know the studio protrayed...a few of them are members on my forum!!
They are also starting a "federation/association" for pole in the US.
They dont display that snicker attitude on my forum...but maybe that is because they know where I have taken my art from!

That instructor COULD be laughing at it or she may just not have been sophisticated enough to answer a question when the interviewer asked if she strips in class or may have just been a bit nervous and giddy. Plus you don't know what conversation preceeded that question as she seemed to already be laughing a bit.
That is studio Soiree and from what I've seen and met of those women they are not at all opposed to the sensual aspect of pole dancing and I believe one of their instructors use to be a dancer and they promote that so I would guess that giggling wasn't as bad as it came across.
I thought it was a very positive interview and no pole dancing cannot make the Olympics now...but you have to start somewhere. It's a big step in getting people to look at pole dancing in a different light when you can get the media to run reports like this.
I don't know about other countries, but here in the US having pole fitness in the Olympics would not prevent us from teaching pole dancing. There are several organizations trying to set standards for pole dancing including the IPF, the WPDF and the US pole federation here - none of them will prevent us from teaching what we like, only set recommended standards that you must comply with if you wish to participate in their events.
Of course in the US things are regulated much less than in other countries, but this is talking about pole fitness which can be separate from pole dancing.

If it does make it to the Olympics, I hope those damn platforms won't be manditory. I really hate the fuckers.
