Default Fathers who take their young sons to Hooters

As strippers, I want to know your opinion on this. I went to a Hooters restaurant a few months back (food is boringly unoriginal!) I couldn't believe there were a couple of dads who I saw there who had dragged their prepubescent sons with them for lunch. I'm just going to assume they probably had a "it will be our little secret from your mom" chat about it. I just thought it was a tasteless form of male bonding. The young boys actually seemed more interested in shooting basketballs in the play area than checking out the waitresses which was funny. Would you be upset if your husband/baby daddy took your son to Hooters?

Probably not. Honestly, my grandmother works right next to a Hooters and we went there together for lunch one day. I think it's pretty harmless.

I took all four of my sons to Hooters as a rite of passage as they came of age and started to notice boobs and ass. #1, 3 and 4 sons were fine with just looking at the orange outfits while dunking their chicken wings in the ranch dressing. #2 son, however, wanted more so I eventually introduced him to clubbing. The jury is out on whether or not I did him a favor.

You just gave me a great idea. My dad is visiting this week and next, and I'm going to take him to a Hooters.

Ha! If you do you are more generous than my boys. They always look for me to pay.

I have to admit though, I think it would funny as a prank to see a six year old say to a Hooters waitress "Get me a sandwich, woman!"

Right. Teach the brat from a tender age to disrespect and objectify women. Hi-larious!

Hooter's actually advertises themselves as being a "family" establishment. I mean for pete's sake they have a fuckin' kid's menu! Not to mention crayons and balloons as well. I applied for a job there (a long time ago, before I got my tattoos) and seriously, the corporate training felt like I was working at Applebee's or TGI Friday's again, only having to wear a skimpy outfit... I never showed up for my first real shift.

When I was younger I went to Hooter's with just my dad and my little brother alot. Actually, I've been to Hooter's as a family (mom, dad, brother, and I) also. We love the breaded wings with extra sauce and fries. Harmless family fun...

Many moons ago (almost a decade and a half), my Dad took me and my little brother to a hot bod contest at this restaurant on the Intercoastal. I was more interested in the contest than my lil brother and dad were. I left our table and ran up to the pool to watch the contest. I didn't come back to the table until the contest was over, like an hour later. I remember telling my Dad that I wanted to be in a hot bod contest when I grew up. "Hey, Pa, look at me now!"

    Good times, good times...

    objectify women
Isn't that the object of your profession?

(However, I think one can objectify and at the same time NOT disrespect women, or anyone else.)
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

They probably see women dressed on the street and in the mall more scanty than the hooters chicks.
I think it's ok to take them to hoots.

Hooters is OK for kids, but I wouldnt want them to overhear some sketchy conversation. I would not take a son to a strip club. Let him find his own genuine female attention and affection.

Hooters is harmless. It's no different from a regular restaurant, except the waitresses dress a little skimpier. I see kids eating there all the time.

As long as he doesn't take him there on a Sunday or Monday night during football season (essp. when the local team is playing) he should be fine. At that age, the kid will probably be more interested in the TVs above the urinals in the restroom than the cleavage anyways.

I used to work at Hooters, and I didn't think it was particullarly appropriate, even though we did have a children's menu. I felt creepy waiting on the kid with my push up bra enhanced cleavage and up my ass oarnge shorts enevitabley in his face.

...agree, it's less than what they would see at the beach.

I don't know if you've noticed this but the Hooters girls wear more at work than many women do just to walk down the street these days. Honestly it's just not that big of a deal. I was working in San Antonio last year and the down town Hooters was packed with mostly families. Moms, dads, kids and grand parents all lining up to get their picture taken with the Hooters Girls.

Dude, they are wearing T-shirts and shorts for cryin' out loud...

I hate it when fathers and sons come to the club together. The grossest thing though is when they book privates and sit next to each other for them.

^^ Yeah. That IS a little creepy!

I have a young son. I have not taken him to Hooters. I've never been there myself. Maybe I oughtta try it sometime and if I like it then I'd take him there. If I think it is inappropriate, then I won't.
