Default My first time leaving my dog in a kennel

was about 20 min ago... I feel so sad

I tried not to cry but I couldn't help it I'm still crying. I really miss my baby. I'm pretty sure they will take care of her...if they don't, all hell is gonna break loose! lol seriously though...its so hard to see your dog running around in the house, cuddling up with you, kissing you, nagging you for food, and sleeping with you, to...NOTHING! This really sucks I miss my baby.

Thanks for listening My husband doesn't really get it because he has had a lot of pets figured I might find another dog lover on here...Have any of you had to cope with this?

I've never had a dog before...I always wanted one my whole life so now that I got her I treat her like she is my child. I give her any and everything. I would do almost anything for my baby. So this is really hard for me right now. Just thought I'd explain that since some of you are probably reading this thinking "girl, it is not that serious!" lol It really is serious to me...ok one more time...

I MISS MY BROOKE LYNN I MISS MY BROOKE LYNN I'M STILL SAD OH WELL

I almost had to leave my dog in a kennel when I was on a week long trip. I was scared for her since she's needy like your dog.. On top of that I have 2 and they're both the biggest sweethearts I've ever met. Anyhow I finally got someone to come to my house to walk them and feed them but I had to pay maaaddd $$ to convince her to.

What I'm saying is.. I know how you feel about your baby. <3 <3

I just got my first dog on 11/09. I don't think I'd be able to leave her just yet. If she was an adult it might be a bit easier, but she is still a baby.

I'm sure the kennel will take great care of her. She will have a lot of fun playing with the other dogs. Every time I took my cats to the "Kitty Hotel", they didn't want to come home because they were so spoiled. One cat still jumps into the carrier every time she sees it. She loved going to the kennel.

you should take your dog to a petsmart pets hotel. They are great. you can also sign your doggy up for doggy daycamp. Just make sure your doggy meets the requirements ahead of time

thank you I miss her. I'm about to leave for my thanksgiving vaca its so hard because I'm going to be so far away from her but I gave like 10 emergency contact numbers lol
"use this number...it might not ring if I'm underground...wait...if that doesn't work here is her grandmas number" lol i know the lady must have thought I was crazy. lol

Some lady was in there when I started crying and she started crying too saying "I'm about to leave my baby too" It feels good when people can relate. Lets you know your not crazy. lol

That scares me...honestly I don't want her with other dogs. If another dog has parvo or something she can catch it and that'll be a disaster. She is so small another dog will chew her ass up awww man now I'm worrying again lol I'm such a sucker for animals

Awww... I feel for you. I can't even leave my dog at the groomer for the day without bawling, let alone boarding him for a few days. I always wonder how parents drop their kids off at Kindergarten...

The dogs are usually supervised at play time so try not to worry about dog fights. And, if it's a good place you took her to, they require a clean bill of health and updated shots for all dogs entering the facility.

I wanna cry now just thinking about having to leave the dog.

She'll be fine. I send my furkiddo to a 10-day "doggie boot camp" every year at the local K-9 training kennel. He was scared shitless the first time, but now; he LOVES it! He gets to romp and run and play with other dogs his size (55lbs+), and they have a small dog area for other small dogs to play together as well. If they are a good kennel, they will brush up on her commands, and bathe her and spoil her rotten.

    No worries!

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, why did you kennel her and for how long?

I'll take a pic so u all can see. I really hope she misses her mommy and remembers me and didn't have soooo much fun that she doesn't want to come home lol

Well by now you should be reunited, and I bet she is so glad to see you again!

first i felt bad but whenever i pick my dog up from the 'country club' as its called, they tell me how he made a friend with another dog and they were hanging out together all weekend. then i almost feel bad taking him home lol since im sure he enjoys some canine companionship too.

^^lol, that's how they get you. My friend said that 1 play time was included, but for an additional $30, she could purchase extra play times, up to 3 max. You feel like an awful parent for not purchasing the extra play time.
