Default need advice from other pale/white girls

so, i'm really fair skinned, and especially at this time of year i'm starting to get paler and paler. i really don't want to tan, but if i have to i will. i can't stand being see-through! especially on my chest and sometimes breasts, you can see my veins through my skin.
so for all you fair skinned ladies, how do you keep your skin glowing? i've seen so many girls with beautiful, glowing ivory white skin, and it looks so f-ing good! how do you keep from getting pasty and see through?
i exfoliate and moisturize, but any tips advice etc?
    thanks!

I am incredibly pale. So I understand your situation. There are many make ups you can use all over your body. Find a bronzer if youd like that isn't over doing it for your skin tone. I refuse to tan. It is very unhealthy. Plus I have a phobia of getting skin cancer. It freaks me out big time. Also have tried to mystic crap, I am so pale I look like an orange. So I stick to the light pale skin and just keep my head up and smile. I have gotten so many compliments from customers because they say I look soo much healthier than the tan girls because I am so light. And I do go outside, more than I used to, just wear sunblock at all times and go outside and have some fun in the sun. That way it monitors the amount of uv rays u take in that change your skins color. That is if you want a little color without make up. Good luck!!

Mix in some fake tanner with your lotion and it will give you a sexy complexion without making it tan

I honestly found no difference between when I tanned and when I didn't.
I'm what I fondly refer to as "Irish White". I am totally see through (I have the vein thing you mentioned).

Drink plenty of water/fluids and eat well in general and do the whole exfoliation thing and you'll be fine.

I'm a fairskinned African American and you can see my veins in my chest and breast. Whenever I tan it usually goes away. But, if I don't have the opportunity to tan than I just use a little powder foundation, just a thin layer...

You don't have to "tan" to look tanned.

I'm very pale too, and working in Australia (where it's a cultural belief that hot women are "tanned") I find I have to use products to make my skin glow so I can compete with the tanned girls.

If your veins are showing the best thing to do would be to cover-up with a good body product (so much safer than actual tanning!). I use either Sally Henson Air-Brush Legs, which is an all over body foundation that just sprays on evenly and lightly. If you don't like sprays, Chi Chi make a really nice, affordable body bronzer that you put on with a big puff sponge, it has a bit of a shimmer to it, an the product lasts forever. Both of the products can either be put on lightly to give a sunkissed effect, or can be applied thickly to get a full deep tan.

They don 't sweat off, if things get spilt on you the products won't run off, an it'd take some pretty vigorous rubbing to get them to rub off. The only problem is that for both of them you need to use a body wash and exfoliating sponge to scrub them off in the shower.

i think there's maybe one other girl at my club (out of like, 100) that is as white as me. i like it though. some girls look great with tans, some don't. i am one of the ones who doesn't. i'm irish/scottish and it just looks "funny" on me. i was meant to be pale. you can see my veins in some spots and i have dark under eye circles i battle constantly with.... but that's about it. i think a lot of it has to do with the undertones of your skin. mine are sort of golden. my boyfriend has more pinkish undertones.. and he tends to show veins more because of it. maybe try some slightly tinted body lotion or a dusting powder with a bit of golden glow to it. if you're really "that pale" though, i wouldn't use actual fake tanning products. i don't personally think anyone should stray more than a shade or two from what they can do naturally.

also (i forgot to mention): some people just have veins closer to the surface or thinner skin. your paleness may not actually be the culprit.

I don't have pale skin at all, (but I don't tan... I'm Cuban/Brazilian) & you can see MY veins on my chest & inner arms. Sometimes it's just something you have to live with. If it's vericose veins or something along those lines, that's a medical issue & I'd see a doc.

I am also very pale, and my veins show through pretty much every body part. I think you can totally pull off pale skin, your skin tone is even from what I can see. I feel ugly when I don't have my sunless tanner on, If I looked like you I wouldn't worry about it! Shimmer powders might detract customers from getting dances because they don't want their wifey to know what they've been doing. I would leave it alone, because I don't think a straight man would ever complain about veins showing. You look good the way you are!

I'm SUPER pale, what any romance novelist worth their salt would call "alabaster skinned", and I just rock it. I put a little red in my hair, get just enough sun to pop my freckles (maybe 5 mins a day), and wear dark colors to highten the contrast. There are a lot of guys out there that are tired of the tanned blondes (even though all my girl crushes are tall tan blondes, nothing against y'all), and want something a little different. You have to change your hustle a little, but to me, the paler I am, the more "my guys" dig me! IF you're confident about it, they'll love it!

PS- Exfoliation and hydration really, really help. Keeps you looking like a pale desert flower, not a scary pasty chick.

I would love to have really white skin. I would never go in the sun, I would rock all sorts of crazy hair colors, I would never get a tattoo, I would totally go for the pin up look. I'm naturally light olive with lots of moles and freckles. Sucks. I would love to have your problem.

Girl, I'm veiny too. Skin cancer runs in my family and I don't even care, I still go to the beds a few times a year and my tan stays for months (very lightly and how I dunno I'm part cuban is how, I guess). Before I started tanning, people used to call me casper. I've got veiny hands. I've also got veins under my eyes that ppl have constantly asked me about. "Are you sick". "Why" "Your eyes look dark." "Oh, those are just veins."

I tried to get laser treatments for those veins under the eyes (and I have them in the area beside the eyes) and it didn't work. They used the lasers for the face AND for the legs on my veins. But supposedly you need more than one treatment.

Oh, and my breasts. Yikes. Awful. Just awful.

Have you ever went to a professional tanning place and asked about airbrushing or getting in a spray tanning booth? If you try that, it is well worth the money. However, if you do not have a base tan (i.e. casper white) get the lightest shade they offer. It will look natural. Don't think going dark will look good because it will look so fake and uneven, the dark is for someone with a base tan.

Totally true because you can see mine even when I am tan.

Yeah, me too but the tanning helps conceal it some and I look better. The veins are medium/dark blue, and the darker my skin is the less they contrast against it.

But really I think the visibility of the veins has to do with the thickness of your skin. If you have thin skin, like I do, you will see the veins. I've seen some white, white ppl with invisible veins. But they look so thick-skinned, especially the pale chinese people I have seen. Very thick skin that never wrinkles. They are the kind of ppl who are nightmares to phlebotomists. I have always wanted thick skin...

yeah i actually think it has to do with the amount of fat right under the dermis not the thickness. everyones skin is the same thickness in the same areas but the amount of fat is different.

men's skin is actually five times thicker than women's. according to my clinique training at least. that's why women get fine lines early, and men don't develop wrinkles until later, but when they do, they're fucking canyons.

i'm see-through pale too, with tons of freckles and naturally red hair, and i just go with it. i take care of my skin, exfoliating and moisturizing and all of that, but i don't put any makeup on it or fake tan or shimmer lotion or anything.

maybe try mixing some liquid bronzer into your body lotion. it'll add a little shimmer, and a little color, but be very subtle.

skin thickness does very. most notably in areas that are already thinner, like the undereye and eyelid area. this is why some people (like myself) have dark circles no matter what they do. it's because, genetically, their skin is thinner and the veins are closer to the surface. there are a lot of undereye creams that focus on thickening the skin.

Skin thicknesses vary, between men and women, different ethnicities and ages (thins out as you loose collagen as you get older). Its actually something i was discussing with my friend the other day (he is a plastic surgeon.) He has to take into account the skin thickness especially in rhinoplasty patients so he can judge how to adjust the bone structure, jersey fabric drapes better than leather.

But in response to the OP, perhaps you're picking yourself apart. I have always been so selfconscious of see through veigns as i am extremely pale, but I constantly get compliments on my complexion. There is this notion that tan skin is beautiful but fair skin can be just as gorgeous. Drink a bunch of water and for a nice glow use jergens natural glow (I use medium just because i have olive undertones) for face and body. Voila, peaches and cream.

I'm also very pale, when i tan it just doesnt look right.
if you dont like how your skin looks normally, it could be your hair color, it may not work with your facial features and skin tone. when i had light blonde hair, i was completely washed out and ended up self tanning and destroying my bathtub haha
i also use this lotion thats "luminesent" it looks like pearls, and i use a pearl powder on my hipbones and above the boobies, makes me glow.
