Default the week before xmas - to work or not to work?

so i realize no one is psychic here (that I know of ) but generally how are things at the SC right before the xmas holiday?

I took off this week and the next because I can't imagine the club being lucrative AT ALL since everyone was doing Thanksgiving stuff last week.....and I am debating on whether I should put myself on schedule for the week preceding xmas....

what do you ladies think? how have past years been? thanks!

I did fine last year around that time....it was at a different club, but I couldn't see why it would be any different.

I plan on working the two weeks in the middle of the month. It really has nothing to do with Christmas, just the fact that things are usually shitty the two weeks right before the first of month and the one right after.

I worked on Christmas last year too (cause I HATE the holiday and am anti-Christmas as they come) The club opened at 5. It was pretty dead but I think I remember making around $300.

In my experience (3 years of dancing), the few weeks before Xmas is generally GREAT. Afterward, not so much. I usually work like a madwoman in December and then take the first few weeks of January off. Give it a shot!

I agree. Last year the weeks before were great, and the weeks after were full of fail.

I always work an extra shift or two that week as well as around Valentines.

You never know when a regular will feel like being extra generous and those two holidays tend to bring that out in them

Of course you work before Xmas. That's the best time to make easy fast money!

wow, really? I've never made money no matter where I was working between Thanksgiving and xmas. I might luck out w/ a good regular coming in from out of town, but other than that I'd rather take the whole flippin month off!

Unfortunately, my money isn't matching up to last years. Things are terribly slower now. I have no expectations this holiday season. Thanksgiving sucked, but last year rocked. My club has been a ghost town. There's literally no money difference on a weekday to a weekend. It all pretty much sucks.

Girls would work longer shifts to offset the inconsistency, but that doesn't even work anymore. It's just more time spent for less really. I'm working all through the holiday, but only because I have no other choice. If you need to work, work. Otherwise, take off. You won't miss much, at least, not from my perspective.

I made $900 on Thanksgiving and $700 last Xmas. Customers are extra generous on holidays.

and if they're not naturally inclined, you can easily guilt-trip them into being generous around the holidays.

Where are you located? You're not in Roseville, MN are you?

I mean, the last few days have been a bit "meh", but the Bears weekend rocked.

Stop over-thinking and just go to work. You know you have a talent for getting $$$ from a stone even on the worst nights, so no worries.

I'm taking the end of December and the first half of January off. I figured that it would be slow after Xmas, so I'm using that free time to get breast implants!

Nope, CA. It's ok. Last week sucked, but this week is average. I have out of town high roller customers coming in this week, so that's always nice. Good luck & happy holidays ladies!

I did great a couple of years ago at CH2 when I worked on Christmas Eve of all times. I did alright when I was at a shithole last year. But this year, Dec turned into a nightmare. Things were OK until last week. I didn't make a little money until the weekend. After last week, I don't even want to gamble on working a few days before Christmas.

I high-tail it outta town for xmas. The money pretty much blows all December so I use it as an excuse to go travel. Christmas in Mexico on the beach is my idea of a vacation

I had 3 good nights last week and from then on I've been dragging myself to work. If I didn't need the money, I'd stay home and watch my TIVO.

I've always done great the few weeks before Christmas. Two years ago, 3 days before Christmas, I made $2300 off of this drunk young guy and some old business type dude.

I worked monday and tuesday days and on tuesday made $600, one of my best days ever. I'm working Boxing day and saturday nights which should be interesting, but in my experience this year, the week before xmas was pretty lucrative...
