Blaze Erupts at Landmark Strip Club AP
Firefighters battled a blaze Thursday morning at the Body Shop, a famous strip club that has been in operation since the 1960s and calls itself the longest running strip club in Los Angeles.
The fire burned through the roof of the building. No one was believed to be inside the club at the time, said firefighters who were investigating the cause of the blaze.
The blaze was reported at about 6:46 a.m. Thursday at the one-story club on Sunset Boulevard, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
Firefighters don't believe anyone was in the building at the time of the fire and were investigating its cause. It took about an hour to douse the fire, which was mainly confined to the attic,
The Body Shop, which has been in operation since the 1960s and bills itself as the longest running strip club in Los Angeles, is one of several clubs mentioned in the 1980s Motley Crue anthem to the strip clubs of America, "Girls, Girls, Girls."
