Sapphire in LV? Was it a long time since you had been back? If so maybe that has to do with it.

I hadn't been there in 9 months and called them and asked if I was still in the computer. The lady on the phone told me I was still listed as active and to just come in to work. I went in around 8pm last Friday and had no problem, but it was a different guy I never met working the back door/register.

I fret that if it was Brett or Matt, they might have said something to me. I haven't gone back since, so I don't know. I worked there for four years though too, before I quit dancing back in February.

I have a friend who is a resident at Sapphire for 3 years or so and was told one night that she has to switch to the 2am shift. They are being "selective" for the holidays (not sure what they base it on, really!).

Ask exactly why you were switched, maybe they'll tell you to let your hair down or something small like that?

well isnt the manager suppose to decide that and not some back door guy with a power trip next time you go in try speaking to a manager thats what I would suggest!

^^^^^UMMM, Brett and Matt ARE the managers!!!!! THey work the back door/check in. Sometimes, it will be someone else, but mostly those two.

FOr those of you who don't know, Brett's dad owns the club, so he now is a manager. Manager of what, I don't know, but there's only about five of them now!!!!! (Being sarcastic)
And I believe that Brett and Matt are cousins aka The Feinstein boys.

Also, I don't really understand why they are moving more girls on the morning shift, because when I went in last weekend, the quality of girls they had working that night was not great. Compare to what I was working with before, it seems the quality of girls there has gone down. Not to be judgemental or anything, but there were a lot of 5's and 6's who were pretty out of shape.

The line up on days at Rhino is better than their line up at night. If that says anything at all.

i heard that they move the girls to crappier shifts as a punishment for not tipping enough...
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Yup...this is why I only deal with that club here and there..... I have talked to numerous girls that have been told in not so many words that they CAN be on nightshift but they would have to make sure to "take care of " the manager who put them on , on a NIGHTLY basis. Look around, if it were just based on looks or wieght there would not be some of the hardened looking, out of shape girls coming in at "primetime" 11 pm or so.

Absolutely. Given the economy are any of you surprised?

This is GOOD from the perspective of an established house dancer who has paid her dues by working Sapphires as her main club, maintained social capital by doing club promos (Sapphire Pool and Limo/Dinners) and tipping her support staff.

It sucks for the entertainer (like myself) who flies in only for the "good conventions" and/or only works at the club a few nights a month and/or club hops around Vegas.

^^^Yeah, but that is complete bullshit seeing as they are the ones who are getting a cut of the tip out money(managers). Like dancers aren't already hurting enough out here, now they want mandatory tips too????

I have to disagree... Up until a few months ago Sapphire was my main club, I did all the BS mixers, monday night football and so on and was well known and liked by the staff. I tipped fairly and consistently through out the 5 years I have worked there. It seemed to me that after the change in ownership things started going down hill. There is no loyalty there, unless you are tipping very heavily or entertaining the managers on some other level, you are just a number and I found out the hard way that all my years (lol! makes me sound old) as a "house dancer" the relationships I had or the dues I paid meant nothing.
I worked the first 3 months of my pregnancy and was relegated to day shift due to gaining weight...Understandable because I was pregnant and they didnt know. However I wasnt pulled aside or talked to, I showed up to clock in, had a big spending customer waiting at the bar for me, and was told I could not work. AT ALL. with no explanation. It was weeks before Christmas, I had just been at the damn Xmas party the night before and I was really counting on that customer. Luckily he gave me a couple hundred after finding me at the bar close to tears. This is only one of many examples where I have felt treated like shit by that club. Its too much to type. I have since lost the wieght and look great but I'm now on the day or 2 am shift. That doesnt bother me as much because I only work there for MNF, and an occasional weekend night.
I guess my point is at a club that large with as many girls as they have in the computer, no one is valued. There will always be someone willing to pay more or spread thier legs for the chance to work a prime shift. It is what it is. They are greedy plain and simple.

^pure, that def sounds like the case, (and it sucks) what i wanna know, is if i wanted to throw in the towel and tip heavy, how do i get back to the 8 shift. just by handing over a qusrter(or more) of my earnings to the bloodsuckers while i'm working the 2 am shift or is there a magic phrase that lets you back to 8. cause i tried bribing the door guy and it didn't work...

I'm sorry to read all these negative stories about sapphire. I have nothing but love for the place. I do fairly well there and get treated with the upmost respect. I do my job by the books, I've participated in special events and I've learned to keep my mouth shut when it comes to certain things. It is what it is... But don't look at them putting you on late shift as a negative, they're actually doing you a favor. Do you know the countless of times I've finally made any money was after the 2am hour?! You can save so much money, not to mention time, by coming in at 2am. HF is $20 plus $15 DJ! And HF is FREE after 3am(except mandatory DJ fee $15)! So really, give it a shot with a positive attitude and you'll see you're not missing much by coming in on early shift.
My girl has been doing day shift and she does fantastic. She says there less girls so it's an easier hustle. I'm going to try it when I get back just to try it.
    Good luck!
