    Default Stripper Knees...

I only work 1-2 times a week, and I've only been stripping for a little over two years now.

My knees creak. Like 80 year-old woman creakiness.

Does anyone know if this is temporary? Will my knees get better after I stop stripping? Do supplements really help? Do your knees creak and snap because of your job?

Mine still do every once in a while and I stopped dancing. But taking my vitamins do help and keeping active all the time and staying hydrated takes a lot of the pain away for me. It used to be way worse and it was all the time. The joint cushioning supplements do work too.

A few years after I stopped dancing, I developed arthritis in my one knee. Did I get it from dancing? Hard to say, but it's possible. Also possible I got it from being an athlete. Personally, I believe I got it from dancing on stage, doing pole tricks, etc.

take any bone/joint supplements you can find. the knees are very delicate areas, and even if the bones in your knee caps/leg bones aren't damaged, the cartilege could be. i know emergen-c makes a supplement for bone and joint health. just make sure you're getting enough calcium and omega oils. flax seed as well as cod liver oil are very helpful.

This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Glycosamine. I swear by it. I got knee pain for a while when i first started wearing platforms around four years ago.

I started taking the supplements and also changing my shoes and heel height during my shifts. I have no problems with my knees at all now.

    Thanks for the advice, ladies.

I talked to my mom the other day (doctor), and she said that we get glucosamine in our diets naturally....and that it wasn't really proven that taking supplements helps. But I don't know what else to do if they don't!

Your mom is right, but not everyone has a diet that provides them with all the vitamins/minerals needed. I am very active and had danced for 11 years. My knees and ankles crack when I walk, especially if I wear heels. I used to get get pain. Taking MSM/Glucosamine has helped with the pain. I ran out and had to buy a different brand. My knees hurt again because my body was adjusting to a different dose. But all is well.

Do you guys swear by a certain brand? I used to take Cosamin DS (expensive, claims to be worth it), but didn't really notice a difference.

Also, would you recommend a certain dosage?

Mine are starting to get so bad that I had a customer point it out last night. "Whoah....was that your knee?!!" He actually heard it with the music and all. I really gotta start taking something.

LOL! This has happened to me too!!!

They don't really hurt per se, but the noises they make frighten me.

o.m.g.! Me too! But I crack all over. It doesn't hurt but if I'm picking up something or doing whatever with my arm, my elbow cracks. If I bend, my knees crack. ima look into taking joint supplements but last time I took supplements, I got a nasty allergic reaction so now I'm terrified...
