    Default stripper shoes

I have a ? So I'm thinking and it crossed my mind that after a while heels start to hurt my feet. I can do 4 inches well that's the highest I've ever went but I hate those pin point stilletos and more than that I hate my toes being squashed together (I have pretty feet and fear corns). But I don't want those chucky 1990s heels either. I think knee high and thigh high boots are so cute. Where can I get comfortable cute shoes to work in? How do you wear 6 inches+ heels?

Have you been wearing stripper shoes or just regular heels? IMO, stripper shoes are much more comfortable. Wearing 6" heels takes a little getting used to, but you will catch on quickly and soon be ready to sprint in your 6"+ platforms.

I like Pleasers 6" or 7" platforms, and I get mine from the dancewear stores locally, and I just ordered some from snaz75.com It's probably best to go into a store to get your first pair so you can see how they feel/fit.

^^^agreed. i have trouble wearing my everyday 3 inch heels for too long. but i ordered some 6 inch pleasers from snaz75.com and wow. i got them now to get used to them for the next month or so before i start in january. but im having no problem. i could wear them all day in the house and not be sore. i think the arch is a lot more natural in them. theyre open toed so i bought one size bigger (i heard it was a good idea). just scroll down until you find one that doesnt say spike or stilleto. im really suprised how comfy they are.good luck with the shoe hunt...

stripper shoes hurt less than regular heels. my feet don't hurt as bad after a night of work compared to a night at a nightclub.

Yep. I think the arch from toe to heel isn't as high in stripper heels even though the height is bigger because you also have the platform in front. My clear Pleaser 8 inchers are so damn comfy! I can work in them all night and still go home with happy feet.

I always wear 7 1/2 inches. I really don't like to go higher than that because it takes away from your body and makes you look too tall and skinny. I'm 5 7 so you can imagine how tall I look in that size heel. Dancer shoes are so comfortable to work in because most of them don't have a deep arch. I always get the ones that have just a small angle but not deep, so they give you lots of support and your toes don't slide up to the front, which I hate to see dancers with camel toes!!!! That is so hillarious to me. I've never had problems with my heels and I've danced for 6 yrs. Working some times 10 or a little more hour a night. But alot of times I'm sitting down. I think taller is better and you can dance better on stage and move more sexier. But some girls can't handle it, they have to have smaller. I've worn hills since I was a young girl. I'm originally from Louisiana, and in church that's all we could wear and dresses.

When i first started dancing my favorite shoes were the Ellie's, clear sandal with strap, very easy to walk in, gave height and the platfor wasnt too high so id fall if i moved the wrong way,lol I love Pleasers too, I liked my clear ones to start with bc they would compliment any outfit. Good luck, and I agree with all the lovely girls too, dancers shoes are wayyyyy more comfy than regular heels!

    Thumbs up Re: stripper shoes

The main reason that stripper shoes are much more comfortable than regular stiletto heels are because the platform in the from of the shoe balances the height of the foot in the from and takes the pressure away from them by providing that lift in the from. So like many of the ladies have said, the arch isn't as deep in them.

If you are thinking boots definelty go someplace and try them on - be sure to ge the name and model # of the boot so you can order them cheaper online - although some places give a dancer discount.

Boots are harder to buy online than shoes because the fit in the calf area has to be just right. I have skinny legs so I can't buy thin PVC boots they have to be stiff tops - but I did buy a pair of stiff tops and 1) they are a bit tight but it;s okay because they have a zipper and laces and 2) they have no pole grip.

Walking in them is much easier than regular heels, so much more comfy .

both of the above ship internationally.

www.snaz75.com I know will ship in the US, though I wish they shipped internationally!

If you want a cheaper deal on their shoes, you can try eBay. I know that the first 2 websites have eBay accounts, both of which I have used.

To walk in 6"+ shoes takes practice. If you buy a pair, walk around the house in them, just to get your balance. Walk on different surfaces (carpeted and smooth) and up/down stairs. You might even want to try walking in your backdoor on concrete and on grass. The better you are on different surfaces is a good thing. Practice dancing in them at home too.
If you are going high, then I recommend buying shoes with ankle straps to give you greater support. if you then decide to dance in them, then they won't slip off your feet on the stage (I've seen customers/their drinks hit with flying shoes when this occurs).

Try wearing platforms like these, cone heels are easier to balance in. I've been dancing for almost 2 years, and I still trip and twist my ankles when I wear pointy heels!

I just bought my first pair... 8 inchers ...Ok, so maybe I was feeling a little TOO brave, but I'm wearing them and dancing in them around the house... fell a couple times, but hopefully I'll get the falls done with before I audition. I think it helps balance if you don't point your toes straight forward... instead turn out a little like a ballet dancer. Maybe thats just me because I use to do ballet, but it does seem to work a lot better.

I absolutely *love* my Pleasers! The padding makes them so comfy to wear, plus they compliment pretty much any outfit

The only shoes that have worked for me in a couple of years (still dance/do pole at home...) are Tony's.
There is something about the "real" vs. the plastic versions that really do fit the foot a lot better IMO.

Whatever you do, get yourself a 1/2 size up from what you normally get. Your feet will be slightly larger by the end of your shift, so it gives you a bit of wiggle room. When you purchase your shoes get heavy duty cushions... they will help make the shoes much more comfortable.
