Then give me pointers.
I'm going to one club from 830pm - 230am, then the 2nd from 3am - 9am.
Any ideas on how to combat the fatigue? The longest shift I have ever worked is 8hrs.

Never done 13 hours. Have done 10, though.
I read this tip somewhere else on here before, and I use it all the time. Wear dif shoes throughout your shift, preferably dif heights. That way, dif muscles in your feet will be used so that your feet won't get as worn out and hurt.
I drink redbull, but I know some people can't because it makes them too tired.
I never do this, but I suggest bringing a snack.
Not sure if you'll be busy all the time or if the clubs where you are are slow. Keeping momentum helps me stay awake. Once I sit down, I sometimes just want to stay sitting down. Of course, this doesn't only apply physically, but also mentally. Keep your eyes on the money!
Drink plenty of water.
Some people would advise against this, but it's worked for me. Eat hard candy every now and then. The sugar helps, but it's not enough sugar to feel a hard crash.
I, personally, wouldn't drink. But then again, one drink makes me really tired. If I keep drinking, I'm good, but I don't think you wanna keep drinking for 13 hours...then again maybe you can handle it.
Since you're in a pretty loud, active environment, 13 hours shouldn't be as bad as it sounds. Good luck.

i work ten hour shifts when i work at a club that is 30 minutes or more away. i take a laptop, books, and games, and take lots of breaks because its not the type of club that is SOO busy that i need to be on the floor all the time. if the club is super busy and i stay on the floor the whole time i usually cant stay more than 5 hours because im sick of dealing with people and want to go home. the breaks help me feel like im not missing out on anything by benig at the club.
also- dont drink if youre gonna work that long. alcohol is a depressant and can make you tired and lazy

Thanks girls. I'm less nervous now. I have a buddy going with me as well so thats pretty cool.

I've done it. You just kind of do it. Energy drinks and lots of food help, and take your stage performance down a notch if you do a lot of pole tricks and stuff. Wear the comfiest shoes you have. Changing outfits once or twice will give you a break and make you feel like it's a new day instead of new shift.
Don't plan on doing anything the next day you're going to be exhausted.
I've done 16 hours a couple times, and used to do 13 hour shifts twice a week.
I recommend sitting as much as possible, even if it's just in the smoking room/section or watching the stage. I noticed my biggest reason for wanting to go home early is my legs killing me, and I only had one pair of shoes so switching wasn't an option. Take some anti-inflammatories and glucosamine with you, and a couple protein bars and apples.
The key is just staying awake sometimes. I'd get bored as all hell waiting for the next wave of custies. I'd bring a book or talk to the bouncer/dj for as long as they could tolerate me. If there are no customers in the club, go practice your pole moves a bit, just don't use up all of your energy.
Good luck, make lots of money!

These work very well!I used them for years working long shifts in Vegas with no problems. Better than an energy drink, no crash.

^^^ Sooo bad.. Yet so very, very good.

I hope you give an update on how you made it through and how you felt the next day. Im currently fatigued after an 8 hour shift w/ a one hour drive each way. I wanted to work today and can barely move.
I hope you made/make it through!!!
I worked 13-14 hour shifts 5 days in a row in Vegas... I drank A LOT Of water, had a banana for a snack, didn't drink alcohol... took 10-15 minute breaks to relax in the dressing room and text friends, play phone games. I only sat down in the DR and always moved around on the floor. The key is to always be doing something on the main floor... Even if it's talking to a fellow dancer while waiting for custies. It wasn't hard because I would sleep for the next 9 hours, then eat, take a shower and go back to work... really had nothing else to do!
Although, I don't recommend it, it's definitely possible to work these many hours. Whatever you do, don't think about the time. You have all day, literally. You need a workable system of how long to work the floor, take breaks, eat, etc. and stick to it, regardless of what's going on. Be sure to stay hydrated and eat foods that don't sit on your stomach like a ton of bricks. Although, fatigue might set it try to stay focused and work smarter, not harder. Good luck! I've done this more than once and, truthfully, try to avoid it at all costs.

Ive done 18 hours, but in a peepshow club, so I had 1/3 of that time to lay on the floor lol.
I wouldnt have usually done it, but after 3 18 hour days I cleared 10k, and went backpacking through Asia for a year.
Long term, you burn out.
I regularly do 14 hour shifts (across 3 venues), but pace myself, take my knee high boots (low 'normal' heels, nice break from stilettos) and make sure I eat.
But I work 12 hour days 6-6 in my regular job, so its normal for me.
Theres no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying till you run out of cake

All I can say is good luck!
Respect for all of you that can pull off such long shifts. You go girls!
Supertheory of supereverything
I regularly do 12 hours. Granted, I kill an hour at the beginning in the dressing room, but I've done it.
Snacks and water, absolutely. Even eat a proper meal. Take the time to sit for a little if you're a walker, take off your shoes and stretch, etc.
The things that kill me are sore feet and lost enthusiasm.
Wow I don't kno how you ladies do those long shifts! I can't even work a normal 8 hour day because I get so bored, not to mention I'm always tired!
OP how was it? I hope you made out good financially as well!

Was the hustle unbearable of the "second club"? Just curious because it didn't seem like I would wanna work there either.

^I'm sorry girl. Are you gonna try it again somehwere else?
I'm getting ready to attempt to pull this off tomorrow. I'm going in at 2 p.m. and depending on how much money I make, I just might be there till 2 a.m. I'm prepared to do whatever it takes cause I've had a HORRIBLE month so far and things are gettin' a little tight.
I can definitely handle this. I won't lie, I plan on being mildly buzzed already when I go in tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have to be there for 12 hours but if so, I still plan on drinking just pacing myself and having plenty of water in between.
Drink shit-tons of water, and iced green tea if you need a gentle amount of caffeine throughout the night (you could always boost it with a rockstar juiced or something if you get desperate.
If you get sleepy, drop down and do ten push-ups. It gets the blood going, and will wake you up.
Oh, and always bring a book or two. The escapism is a nice break for your brain, and sitting is a nice break for your poor feet.
I tend to wear shoes without ankle straps so I can take them off when I walk up the stairs to the dressing room, or when I'm not on the floor, so my feet never hurt at work unless its just been dance dance dance all night.
Sorry it didn't work out, but in case you try again, it's worth a shot. Just think of time in a relaxed way: it may be dead right now, but I have HOURS to make my money, and I'm not going to sweat it!
