    Default Newbie in Atl

I am a newbie in atlanta, and need to know of a good club to work, and any tips for me as a newbie in atlanta. I would like to work the day shift, and would like to know how much I might make working the day shift compared to the night shift.

    Thanks

I've worked at Pink Pony and at Follies. Pink Pony I worked ays for two weeks then swapped to nights. A good day shift was $250, an average night was $500-$800; but the last time I was there was a year ago. Audition Thurs or Fri because the weekday housemom with the dark hair is the devil.

Follies is a smaller club. I worked there 6 months before I moved to LV and still managed to pull $350 a night. The club is very small. They didnt audition me, they just hired me. The GM is very nice.

I have heard from a few of my girlfriends that Oasis has close to the same earning potential as PP, but it's a bit of a haul from the city proper, it's in Doraville.

Dekalb Co permit is $300/yr, I believe Fulton Co is a bit more. I have also heard decent things recently about the new PP South in Forest Park. I think Clayton Co permit is $325/yr.

I hear there's good money at The Cheetah too but you aren't allowed to ask for dances, and I never worked there.

Most of the clubs in Piedmont are dumps. Club Onyx is supposed to be good, but it's a "black club" so I hear that is a different hustle.

    Hope this was helpful.

    Thanks for the response.

When would I have to get my permit? Do I have to have it before I start, or do I have a certain time period to get it after I have started?

You have to have your permit before you start.

If you're just starting out I would not recommend the Pink Pony or the Cheetah. They are high hustle, fast paced clubs and a newbie will get run over. Also, the Pink Pony has lowered the cost of their hour in VIP from $500 to $300 in the past few months (NOT a good sign, that club is basically a night club with strippers) and of that $300, if you get funny money you keep $255, then tip 10% to the DJ, so you get around $230 for an HOUR.

Some clubs will pay for your permit. Go to Looks of Atlanta on Piedmont, and get Xcitement magazine. It'll be right by the front door on the inside. It's the local strip club/escort/massage parlor magazine, and there are always clubs advertising that they're hiring in there and they'll pay for your permit.

I would recommend Mardi Gras (you don't need a permit), Tattletale's, maybe Oasis.

What race are you? This is relevant because Atlanta strip clubs are practically famously racist in their hiring practices.

I work at Fannie's Cabaret right now off Fulton Industrial.. They didn't require a permit.. Said they've worked out an ordinance.. Not sure but I can make usually $300-400 on Fri, Sat nights.. I've never really worked much during the week.. I think its hit or miss.

I don't know about that area. I've only ever worked at the Pink Pony and The Cheetah.

Atlanta sucks because all the clubs that aren't "black" clubs will only hire 10% or so black dancers. Black dancers are at a huge disadvantage here. Most places will hire an ugly white girl before an average black girl.

Do not go to Club Wax... it is/was a whorehouse. They just got raided a few months ago and lots of their girls left. The permit is something like $20 or $50 but don't fall for it unless that's your thing. Dirty Ratt's is an afterhours, don't go for that either. I don't know about Fannie's too much but a girl at my old club left Fannie's, and my old club wasn't that great either so I'm assuming it wasn't too hot for her. She's black too. My old club was PinUps. It was ok for a little while but it kind of fell off a bit. One good thing about it was that it's very large and has a large dressing room, and on Fri-Sun nights stays open until 8am, so unlike many other clubs, you can make money if you're willing to stay down later. You can PM me for more info if you'd like. I'd be happy to help.

If I was an african-american girl, I would go to Stroker's. I hear their girls are beautiful and it's packed out almost every night. Either that or Magic City, just because I think it'd be a blast to work there.

As a newbie dancer, I wouldn't recommend Strokers OR Magic City first.

If you're going to work in a black club in Atlanta and this is your first time, I'd recommend Pin-Ups, Platinum 21 or even Onyx during the day, just so you can get the hang of it.

Strokers and Magic City to black dancers is like Cheetah or something similar to a white dancer...you'll be overwhelmed.

If you absolutely MUST start at Strokers, I'd recommend visiting on an amateur night (Wednesday) first and seeing if its your speed. Strokers is known to have 75+girls a night and to a newbie, that can be extremely intimidating.

I asked my boyfriend, and he said the clubs on Fulton Industrial are trashy whore houses. Stay away!

... not to mention that Strokers isn't all that hot right now anyway.

I am a black girl that works at Oasis. I do pretty good I have been there for 4 years. They are picky about the black girls they hire and the amount. They do this because most of the customers are white and trust me if there are to many black girls you will not make any money. And the black guys that come usually come to a white club to see white girls.

I"m sorry but I just have to jump in here! Why is it that black dancers feel this way? Why do black dancers feel that the increased number of "us" in the club some how diminishes their earning potential?

I would like to know the same thing. Because I feel no matter what race you are. If you hustle and have confidence in what you do, it doesn't matter how many girls of your race is working with you.

^ it's because the main client base in white clubs is either racist or just isn't attracted to women of color. Seriously.

Agreed. At least in Atlanta, based on what I've seen with my own two eyes. Sad, but true.

How long are the shifts at Pink Pony 2? Do you have to work a certain number of shifts per week? I'm considering auditioning there.

    Thanks!

I am taking a trip down south next week to ATL for the first time, and I am really excited. I want to try a club for next weekend and maybe Mon., if still in town....

I looked here to find some info on ATL...and didn't know I NEED A PERMIT!

will I need a permit to work just 3 nights or so???....
will clubs hire travelling dancers??? (Though I am interested in poss. moving there, and that's why I am visiting, and want to see how work is)

I wanted to try Magic City or Pink Pony, from what visitors from ATL have suggested for me.

    Any Advice???

Any info on house fees, average night money for weekends/weekdays, shift hours???? etc...

I'm light skin latino mix - born here (since everyone seems to be mentioning how imp. looks/race is ATL)

thanks in advance for any advice:-)

You have to have a permit to work even a half a night almost everywhere in Atlanta.

Now you mentioned that you wanted to work in EITHER Magic City or Pink Pony.

It's either one or the other...if you have the body of a Magic City dancer, then Pink Pony is not likely to hire you. Now, if you have the body of the TYPICAL Pink Pony black girl (meaning really thin, no ass, etc), then Magic City will STILL hire you...you just won't make that much money.

So you have to really look at your body and 'get in where you fit in.' Pink Pony does not harbor a lot of thick black women like MC does.

Trust me its easier said than done. I have been working in white customer based clubs for years. You can be as confident as you want but if the customers are just not attracted to you then you will NOT make $$$. Of course you wont leave completly broke but you will not bank, no matter how good your hustle.

How do i post pics here?
I have a couple so yall can let me know what club you think would be best for my look.
    I am petite, tight n toned, thin but curvy.....34, 24, 36, 5'3

think it would be worth it to try it out and pay for the permit? I heard you can REALLY make bank in ATL...by both girls and custies. ....like an easy G a night on weekends.

how hard is it to get permit, and how long do you have to wait?
do you have to have the permit before you audition?
is magic city in same county as pink pony.....
or which county would you suggest for the best selection of clubs?
***I have really heard magic city is the spot though
....and someone else recently just mentioned the gold club?

Love to hear any other tips on different atl club shift times, dress requirements (I never danced in platforms!), house fees and tip outs, funny money, couch/vip prices, whatever.....
