    Default Newbie questions about Utah

    Hi ladies,

I live in Utah, and am FINALLY 21 to work at a decent club. I just found out that Utah does not allow table, lap, or private dances. *I was wondering how this effects money, and what is adverage income since all there is to do is stage dance.

**I have a few questions of the all nude and more hush-hush situations at clubs. Like American Bush allows private dances, and Northern X-posure ShowClub is all nude, are these clubs you would recommend staying away from since they are obviously breaking some laws?

***One more thing, I am a goth/fetish model, so I have a very alternative look (bright hair colors, drawn on eye brows, dark lmake up, etc) does anyone know how the general club attandees would react to this style or if they are more open minded then the regular public? (I am so sick of hearing vampire jokes-lol)

****And one more thing (sorry for so much>_<) I would like to start as a waitress and move up into dancing, just to get a better idea how each club works, the workers, and the clients. Could anyone recommend some good waitressing gigs or do clubs hate when girls would rather work their way up instead of just dance?

    Thank so much everyone!

And poo, I have another question-
I have a Dragqueen friend/work partner and was wondering if any clubs would hire a queen (known or unknown to the public that she is really a he) We've done private dancing together and people love having both options

wow! how strange! I am looking into stripping in slc right now too! Sadly, I don't have any answers to your do questions. But other clubs you should check out should be southern x-posure and trails gentlemens club.

I cannot answer many of your legality questions directly as I've been out of UT for a a while and laws regarding strip clubs and escort services change faster up there than traffic lights, lol. As a former regular at Southern with a good freind who danced at Northern, I can offer some insight about teh clubs themselves, however.

The alternative look shouldn't be an issue (if you favor other clubs in the area catrering to the goth crowd, I'll probably run into you someday, lol); one of Southerns top-earning girls a few years back was very goth/punk looking with beautiful full-back art for instance. Lots of guys like that look, and as long as custies don't run from the rail while you're up the club is happy to have you.

The girl I knew at Northern would make $50-$80 take home on a bad night, a couple hundo on a good one. Lack of VIP does limit income (hint: move 440 miles south to stripper Mecca, LMAO). Southern should be better, it's the most steady of the adult clubs in SLC (or has been for years, dunno if that's still the case?)

I'll ask around with girls I still know up there and see what's up...

This would probably affect your money in the sense that all of the tourists that travel to Utah are so used to being able to get table, lap, or private dances for $20 and to not get any of these and still have to pay that or maybe $5 less may be expensive to them. The locals may be used to it though so your money may not be affected there.

Clubs would not operate to purposely breaking the laws. They would be shut down faster than the girls can get there G - string off! There are dancers who break the rules and the laws behind the manager's or owner's back, but for the most part they owners try to follow the laws. Laws could be different from city to city.

Every dancer's style is different, but you may want to tone it down a bit, unless you find a cub where there are more men who appreciate women such as yourself. Remember, you're creating a fantasy for these men, so a lot of times you may have to try out different styles to see which one makes you the most $$$.

It's very difficult, from what I have experienced and have known other dancers to experience, to get a cocktail waitress job in a strip club. They are always hiring dancers, but hardly hire for other positions. If you are unable to get a job as a waitress to start, go to the clubs of your interest, maybe just as a customer, watch the dancers, what they do, what the customers do, or you can just go in and talk to the manager, let him know you're interested in working there and as soon as they hire you, take a tour, stay awhile and hang out, get to know your environment.

Clubs may avoid this just because they do not want any legal problems. Your friend may have to let all of the customers know that she is really a he and let the customer choose whether or not they want her company.

The question on my mind is, "how would he be able to hide it?" I expect that dancers in Utah still do go topless, unless it's a bikini bar only state. Even then, that might be tough to pull off. . . .
