Default Inexpensive flat iron for pretty straight hair?

I did a search on flat irons and everybody's raving about CHIs and T3s but it's out of my budget and probably not necessary. My hair is naturally straight, just not perfect.

Bed Head got decent reviews, and Helen of Troy though I'm not sure how much those are. For those that have less expensive flat irons, what do you like/don't like? I had a Vidal Sassoon one and that was all right though it didn't last that long.

I'm note sure what your budget is, but I use the generic Chi. The brand is GVP (Generic Value Product) and cost around $60. Been using it for about 2 years and it hasn't broken yet- which is crazy because my Chi's used to break every 6 months or so!

I got my FHI on sale for about that much ^
Try retailmenot.com, they have coupon codes for a lot of Web sites, like overstock, where I got mine.

I was going to suggest the revlon flat iron too. I have naturally wavy hair and the revlon flat iron would make it super straight. In addition to using the Sexy Straight Hair spray.
I accidently dropped it on tile in my bathroom and it stopped working. So i used this an excuse to buy myself a more expensive flat iron(i expected wayy better results)... I bought the CHI and honestly, I don't see the big deal. It works pretty good... but I'm pretty much getting the same results I got from the revlon flat iron and I spent $130 bucks on it.

I second this. I just bought this same iron, it's on sale at Sally's for $40 now. I was very impressed and I love mine.

I got that one a few years back and I liked it..Until I found a teflon coated flat iron by Conair. I have 2 actually one for the club and 1 for at home.
I paid $40 for one at Fry's and got another at Target for $30. I have very long thick wavy/curly hair and it gets it bone straight. What I really like about it is I can go for a couple of days without having to reflat iron my hair.

So I was going to get a revlon one that seemed decent that I saw at Fred Meyer but I went ahead and checked out Sally first. I did see the GVP one but it was $60 so I kept looking (I'm a hostess instead of a stripper now lol I'm poor).

Ended up getting a 1" one by Helen of Troy and I LOVE IT. It has ceramic and tourmaline and ions and all that shit and heats up to 450 degrees. It works great, I definitely recommend and it comes with a 1 year warranty with an option to buy a two year warranty. 36 bucks!!!

the problem with a cheapo straigtener is that you have to go over the same hair more than once, and that is damaging to the hair. i am not 100% in love with my chi but my hair is much healthier than when i used a cheap one.

I have to agree with the ladies who use the GVP. It is the best straightening iron I have used. Even my hair stylist can't get mine as straight with hers when she styles me.

I have been using an Amika 100% ceramic flat iron...its the best investment for me. Yeah, theyre not super cheap at 100-120 bucks, but you only have to pass it thru your once to get it flat.

For about $30-40 you can get Conair's Infinity %100 ceramic straightner. I am not a normally a fan of conair, but i bought this one for my sister and she likes it alot.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.
