Default Who would you put in your motivational shrine?

I want to build a shrine to inspire me to work harder. I figured I'd put pictures of people & deities that I admire or influence my work.

Here's what I came up with:

Aphrodite---every sex worker should have her in thier shrine
    Marilyn Monroe
    Bettie Page
    Dorthy Danridge
Josephine Baker---she made wearing banana skirts hot, lol.
    Lily St Cyr
Veronica Franco---possibly the coolest whore in european history.
    Ishtar--Mesopotamian love goddess
    Kamadeva--Hindu love/sex godess
    Ava Gardner

    Other people:
My Grandmas---they both worked damn hard for everything.
Barack Obama--even if you dont like him, u gotta admire the man's drive.
Katherin Hepburn--she was never a sex siren, but she was smart and ambitious.
    Howard Hughes--nuts & genius.

    im still working it out.

Who or what would go into yours?
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!

Seconded on the moms/grandmas. Right now I'm actually using my great-grandma's name as my stage name.

There's a couple girls I work with who go in my shrine. They come in and blast it out while the rest of us sit around and complain and preen. One of them works like a Denny's waitress, always smiling, always bouncing, and instead of the magical coffee pot in her hand her tits pretty much out/ready to come out.
"I'm teaching fools some basic rules. / I believe in the Golden Rule. The man with the gold rules. / I made a little money.
And like the Bible says, I was enjoying the fruits of my labor. This is my comeback. This is me doing what I love to do." -- Mr. T

"In the street I am my divine self. In the club I am a stripper, portraying a fantasy.
That's not to say anybody can do or say anything to me but it's acting. Playing a role. That simple." -- Pure

in my motivational shrine i'd put pictures of the crap i want, and a sign above it saying" close your locker and go hustle"
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

This may seem weird, but have you ever seen that T.V show Jon and Kate plus 8? I think that Kate is an amazing mom, i know i would NOT be able to do that every day of my life, i would go insane.. She's pretty inspirational to all mothers out there.

Good Question, I don't keep pictures of them, but sometimes when I want to give up I hear Donald Trump saying "I like making deals. That's what I do. I enjoy making deals with people"

I forget where I heard him say it, whether it was an interview or an old episode of The Apprentice. So I always look at a night of work as negotiating different deals.

    For dancing inspiration:

Machiavelli - wrote the book on manipulation
Andy Warhol - "I am a deeply superficial person." Printed his own money, amassed a fortune on his image.

No family members to speak of.....unfortunately.

I gotta say Bettie Page.....of course.

Pinup model Dayna Delux (for those of you who are unframiliar....http://www.myspace.com/daynadelux)
She has such a confident, natural sex appeal and her body keeps me motivated to stay in shape. She's also a big time optimist and can definitely owe some of her success to that.

Theo Kogan from the Lunachicks.....just bad ass, sexy, everything I want to be when I am on stage.

Traci Lords....same deal. I dance to her music all the time.

Gwen Stefani......thinking of her reminds me that you CAN be super hot with an A-cup. I think of her when I start to get down on my boobs, or feel like I am getting no dances cause I am flat.....

george washington, abraham lincoln, alexander hamilton, andrew jackson, ulysses s. grant, and benjamin franklin
(all the guys on US currency) just kidding.

honestly, i might put ru paul on mine. he overcame obstacles like race, sexual orientation, coming from a poor background, and now he's rich and famous the world over for being an absolutely fabulous drag queen. it'd be a good reminder as to how much more effort some other people have to go through to be accepted, to be glamorous and feminine, and to be successful.
"If she wants to dance and drink all night, well there's no one that can stop her. She's going til the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Yeah we do what we do to get by, and then we need a release!" - Against Me!, "Thrash Unreal"

    Absolutely what Rockell said!

What I've done in the past and I know I've also been that inspiration to others too....

Who are the girls at your club that make money that you admire for their work ethic? Don't outright copy but emulate some of the things they do. Obviously you may not have pics of them for a shrine but you can have one in your head.

When I'm at a loss or start getting burned out I try to scope out who is making money and 'observe'. It really helps and I've noticed that my money picks up a little bit too. It could be a subtle move they do in the VIP (that you can copy if it works) or maybe you notice they do something out of the ordinary when they are sitting with a custy. Even if they do something a little on the unethical side, cock-blocking or whatever if I can pull it off I'll try it and see if it works for me too.

Other people of inspiration to consider for your shrine:

Betty Page - I'd be smiling too being hot, wholesome and wearing all those fabulous shoes!

Leni Riefenstahl - Controversial but the woman manipulated media without asking permission.

Ben Franklin - I bet he'd be a horrible customer but he really knew a lot about money and people. You know he was a real player for his time and after all he is on a C note.

Arianna Huffington - Smart. Rich. Powerful. Probably one of the major reasons Obama is in office right now.

This crew: Mark Burnett, Donald Trump and Carolyn Kepcher. Read their books especially Jump In by Burnett. That guy is simply amazing!

Bio and autobiographies can be very helpful too.

    good one!

My stripper persona is mostly inspired by Lady Heather from CSI. I make great money whenever I actively try to be a slightly more flirtatious version of that character.

Yes, Cherry Bomb, I know who Dayna Deluxe is and I understand why you admire her-she is so beautiful, sweet, and petite and yes,has such a terrific attitude. My original heroine is Louise Brooks. And I can't leave out Bettie Page and a whole new generation of neo pin-up princesses like Dayna Deluxe, Bernie Dexter, and many more. Cheers! Harlow

Diablo Cody definitely goes in mine. Because her career path is almost exactly the one I want for myself: from stripper to published memoirist to A-list, rich, celebrity Hollywood screenwriter. She shows me that it can be done, and she didn't hide her stripper past.

Cleopatra. She wasn't attractive, not really. According to some historians, she was actually supposed to be fairly unattractive. But she had such a mysterious, seductive charisma, two of the most powerful men in the world at that time fell to their knees when it came to her, and she's widely considered to be the greatest sex symbol of that era.
