I shouldn't joke, but I saw that and immediately though "of course they went down, since the smokers left town".

ed è subito sera

^ha!
but that's actually pretty fascinating. seems like the bans are still relatively new but cool that they're actually getting data/results like this
i quit a few months ago and hate the way it smells now but still want to smoke one sometimes haha

I am sure outlawing red meat would have a similar effect.
But then that would offend freedom, wouldn't it?
disgusting...

"See, believe it or not (and I don't care whether you do), it's never been about the sex. I get sex at home, anytime, and we like it, and it's good for both of us. No, my stripclub experience has been about acceptance, and affirmation, and desirability...There have been some women who have a personality that just clicks with mine, and in the faux-sex atmosphere of the club, it's a mix that is completely seductive." - Jay Zeno

I quit smoking in May. There are smoking bans everywhere in Ontario. But the biggest change for me occurred when smoking was stopped in my workplace many many years ago. That made me go outside and smoke, and realize that I actually liked smoking in the outdoors more. It got so I wouldn't smoke inside even if allowed.
Gen...it's time to quit the stogies. C'mon, you can do it!

It isn't about that...I haven't had a cigar in more than 6 weeks because of sinus issues...I don't HAVE to have them.
It's about the freedom to have them. something that USED to be sacred. I am troubled by the idea that we can curtail freedoms because they are unpopular or even harmful.

Your freedom, and the freedom of other smokers was curtailed by law because it was found to be a harmful activity. Harmful to individuals, and therefore harmful to the public good. Smoking was more widely tolerated in the past because it's effects simply weren't well known. Those effects are well known now....by mostly everyone.
If there is anything I've come to learn about you Gen, it's that you are not a person who wishes to harm another.

Smoking bans cut heart attacks by a third: study

God, I really hope the county I work in passes an indoor smoking ban someday. I don't wanna have to choose between leaving my club (and quitting dancing altogether) and risking my health. What a shitty choice, huh?
Unfortunately the tobacco lobby is pretty powerful in NC and emitting poisonous chemicals into the area immediately surrounding you and not having to care about who breathes it in is seen as some sort of god-given right![]()

Your "freedom" costs the rest of us a shit ton in healthcare costs. If you want to smoke you should be paying most of your salary in taxes to pay for what your fellow freedom lovers costs us when they get sick. As long as we live in a country were doctors aren't allowed to say "its his own fucking fault, let him suffer" then we ALL have to pay for shit like this.
