    Default London girls, help needed!

Right, this year, its my ambition I am gonna properly get into stripping... Ive been doing random little bits of internet porn since I turned 18 but have kinda put all that on the backburner since I got a really hard-going job with awkward hours...

Anyway, this year Im going back to the office jobs, so would like to maybe start stripping in the evening to supplement my income a bit as I am determined to start saving for a car/flat/holiday this year!

So. London girls, can you tell me wheres good, where I should avoid, and any other handy little tips you can give me! Ive learnt a lot off of this forum, but I feel mpst of it applies to te americans and Im sure its a bit different over here...

    Thanks lovelies!

It depends if you want to work in a club like the Rhino or if you prefer strip pubs (the difference is you get paid for your stage shows yay).

I dunno, I would prefer to work in a club, unless someone convinces me otherwise... Its probably just cos the phrase 'strip pub' sounds kinda seedy and yukky...

You shouldn't let that be the determining factor. I have worked in pub-style clubs (never in London however) and I include some as my favourite places to work; the atmosphere is relaxed, there are often fewer girls and it can be easier to sell dances.

Strip clubs generally look better, but I've always felt that is mostly done for the girls so they feel good about where they work. Believe me, decor is not proportional to how sleazy a club is; you have sleazes in even the classiest clubs and my worst encounter with extras was actually in an upscale club.

My biggest bugbear about strip-pubs is the capacity to earn money; they either don't have the facilities (e.g. VIP rooms) to/or attract men with high individual spending power. That being said, you should work in a place where you feel happy and where the £££ is.

Head down to shoreditch - Browns, the White Horse etc are in spitting distance from each other. As Union Jackie says, it's all about where you feel comfortable and most dancers prefer the 'luxurious' surroundings of a club but it's all about the money really. The pubs are more difficult to get hired in because they tend to keep a strict ratio to give the girls better earning potential and hence tend to be less flexible with shift patterns.

    There are also a significant number of strip pubs in the suburbs. The agencies that book dancers for them are;

    Entertease: www.entertease.com
    Angels Exotic: www.angelsexotic.co.uk
    Promises: www.promises-agency.co.uk

There is another agency called Rainbow which books a number of pubs. Unfortunately, the website address I have appears defunct

Of the agents, Janice at Entertease is the most dancer friendly, while Dawn/Kitty at Angels Exotic can be a nightmare to get hold of. Lorraine at Rainbow has a reputation for being eccentric.

Most of the pubs are OK (and some are well run) but the problem may be transport. Getting to the Falcon (Entertease) for example, means you either need a driver or to share with one of the other girls working on the shift.

Anecdotally (cos I'm not a dancer) it is possible to make reasonable money working the pubs but it requires getting the right shifts and developing regulars.

Rainbow is now called Lorraines Girls http://lorrainesagency.co.uk/index.php .

The best 2 strip pubs to work at are Browns/Griffin {same ownership} and the White Horse , Shoreditch which now has a TD club called Blush upstairs. The girls I know say the WH is the best place to work but the money is better at Browns. Both recruit direct and are quite fussy, at the WH you will need to be able to put on a good stage show, at Browns you will need to look good {though somebody else on this site said they look like 80s porn stars}. Most of the girls at Browns and the WH have worked at Spearmint or Stringfellows in the past and all say they prefer the pub system.

Browns is a very City based place with lots of suits etc though the real high flyers {if there are any left} probably use FYEO City Rd. The WH has a lot of older regulars like me who have been coming in there for 20 years or more.

A lot of the clubs and several London dancers are featured in the web site I write for www.strip-magazine.com .

And a bit more info on the economics FWIW.

Many girls work for multiple agencies (although there is a certain amount of politics involved in doing that).

You'll pay an annual fee to each agency - from memory that's about £30 - £40. (Lorraine will try and charge new girls more if (a) they want to work for multiple agencies and (b) she thinks she can get away with it).

You'll then pay a shift fee to the agency/pub for every shift you work. Rule of thumb for the outer London pubs is £15 - £20 for a shift. On top of that you've got to pay your transport costs, plus a few incidental costs - some pubs change £3 a shift towards the juke box for example.

Your money is made up of two elements, jug money and private dance money. Jug money comes from collecting a minimum of £1 from everyone in the pub before you dance. Could be anywhere between 5 - 20 people in the pub, and you'll typically do 2 - 3 dances an hour. (The number of dances depends on the number of girls a shift - you can check that out from the websites).

Private dance money is split between you and the pub these days - with the pub taking about 25%. So for a £15 private dance, you'll see about £11 (and £15 from a £20 private dance).

Money depends on pub, shift and whether you can build up regulars. A bad Monday afternoon shift might see you make no more that £30 - £50 profit. A good Friday evening shift might see you heading towards the £200 mark.

Some pubs are based on stage shows (typically in central London). Other pubs are walk around (outer London). That means there's no stage and you strip by walking around the bar shedding clothes as you go. Also means you'll end up dancing very close to your audience.

Some pubs have security on the door, some don't - although it's very rare to see trouble.

    Phil.
