Do any of you have an easy exercise program that has effectively allowed you to lose 10-20 pounds in 6 months or less? I am looking for a program that is easy, something that I can do at anytime of the day and is effective.
Thank you so much!

Running ! It's the best thing you could ever do for your body, and all you need is shoes. It's not so bad if you have some music to listen to. It takes a really long time to feel used to running without getting stitches and without getting fatigued. Start slow, maybe run one mile on a track but do 5 minutes walking 5 minutes jog and 5 minutes run three times. That's what my trainer started me with. That's another thing, if you can save up money then a trainer will help a ton! They tell you what to do, so easy. I've been thinking about trying the p90X too, I've heard some good stuff about it on this site and as well as others. The number one tip I will leave you with - and excuse me if I am pushing my views - is to go vegetarian. I've never read Skinny Bitch but I hear alot of good things about it. I think there is a lot of truth to the theory that eating meat makes us bloated and big. Not all vegetarians are skinny, but it's way easier to stay slim. They've done tests on twins and stuff like that. I would try it for a week ! That might shed the 20 pounds without exercise.

Walk Away the Pounds videos are good and not jarring. Rebounding is great. Also you might want to cut certain foods or beverages out of your normal diet, for me it was getting rid of soda and drinking less booze helped me lose a lot of weight. Good luck.![]()
Currently doing 30 Day Shred- check out the thread on this if you haven't already. But in Feb I'm starting the P90X, both 30 day shred and p90x have rave reviews on amazon and other review sites I've looked at.
So maybe look into one of those?
Thanks so much ladies! I think I will start with running,4- 5 times a week. I love meat, but I don't eat red meat unless I go to a fast food place. I'll have to cut that out too. Maybe treat myself on Saturdays to a burger and a shake so I don't feel deprived and starved lol. NO soda, no sweets, no carbs. Hmmmmm...I'll keep you ladies updated and let you know how I do throughout the weeks and months.
Thanks again!

Check out The Firm...do the dvd that has "cardio" sculpt, "body" sculpt, and "ab" sculpt. You will need to use what they call the "fanny lifter" with this but it is VERY effective. I lost about 30 lbs in 4 mos. Its about an hour a day...any questions email me. They gaurantee visible results in 10 workouts or less, and I always see results in about 2-3 workouts! Good luck!
Be careful with running as it is incredibly hard on your joints. I know a 24 year old woman that has had knee and hip replacement surgeries. Invest in good shoes!
Also, instead of cutting out sweets and carbs why not just eat a healthier diet? There are ways to eat a healthy diet that tastes good and helps you to lose weight!
when going to the supermarket park at the far side of the parking lot and walk all the way to the front.
When you're at home instead of taking regular steps, do lunges.
Get a pair of hand weights, and while you're watching tv do reps of different lifts.
Sounds silly considering ya'll do it all the time, but dance. Every chance you get shake a booty.
Do the twist in the check out line at stores.
Skip down the isles.
When you feel the need to munch (not hunger just bored) drink a glass of room temp water and walk around the block/your house a few times.
Got stairs? walk up and down them. Up them fast, down them slow, flex your legs as you go down.
Jump rope.
Walk backwards, its good for your calfs.
Standing on one foot promotes healthy core muscles.
Its the little things that ad up.

^ You can alternate between a fast walk and jogging. That feels better to running to me. I usually only run the whole time if I need my whole workout done really fast. A home treadmill is $250 or so if it's cold where you are ( and you can watch tv ).

Starting strength for my exercise program and eating clean nearly all of the time.
I work out 3 days a week for less than an hour.
In about 3 months I lost 4 inches off my waist, and went from 27% bodyfat to 20% bodyfat. It's a lifestyle change but the effects are fast and dramatic. It's also pretty easy.

I walk my dog for 30 minutes every day, dance 3 nights a week, and play soccer one night a week. I do strength exercises on nights that I have to work, for about 20 minutes. When the weather is nice I hike or ride my bike. I try to eat several small meals a day. I stay in pretty good shape this way.
Yes the Firm is my favorite! Their workouts are vigorous but doable, and you will slim down as well as get muscle tone. I recommend it to anyone that will listen! I do the Boot camp Maximum calorie burn. All you need are weights - I use 3 pounds for the light ones and when i need somthing heavier, 5 or 7 pounds. Good luck! Stay positive!
I can definitely vouch for vegetarianism being a savvy diet plan (i've been one for 5 years), just watch out because it is veeery easy to substitute carbs for protein that you're missing from meat. I eat fish at least 2 times a week to make up for this. Lots of water and veggies will make for a very happy slim figure!
