Default I had my baby (another homebirth)

My son was born on Wednesday the 7th. I had him at home in my big-ass tub. It was pretty awesome, truth-be-told. I mean the pain was intense but the experience was great. I'm never doing it again though!

Everything went off without a hitch and I was in labor for about 10 hours.

He was 7lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long. We're both doing well.

I'll answer any questions or just accept well wishes and congratulations and I'll post a detailed account if anyone is interested.

Congratulations, for your courage and a beautifull baby! Wish you and your baby a lot of fortune and beautifull moments!
I would never be able to do this, myself. Happy to hear, that you and the baby are both doing great!

    Thanks Everyone!

I'm really enjoying being a "new" mom again. It's strange how much you can forget with 5 years in between babies. Then again, there are some instincts that haven't gone anywhere even though I haven't needed them in so long.

Good Luck Rockell. I was impatient too and labor took me completely by surprise. I was convinced that I would never go into labor but I decided to do the final preparations of the bassinet. I put the final blanket in and I said, "Ok Xavier, you can come now, your bed is ready." My husband laughed and got in the shower and I sat on the toilet to pee and all of a sudden a little gush came out. I thought I was having incontinence problems but when I stood up it kept dripping and then there was another gush and I knew my water broke. My husband was in shock. We couldn't believe the baby had actually done what I said. It was crazy. Maybe you could try that out!

    ^^^ Lol, that's awesome. Congratulations!

Did you have a midwife, doula, whatever with you at home or did you just do it alone. I'm looking for the detailed account I guess.

I'll post pictures once my computer stops being a dickhead to my camera. And I'll post more details for those interested but I can't promise when because as you can imagine I'm not really in a writing mood.

Thank you. I actually went into labor on Monday night, about 12 hours after my doctor told me my cervix was completely closed and I would probably go over my due date. I give you alot of credit for giving birth the natural way, I could have never done it, I was literally crying for the epidural!

Congratulations ladies I have five kids and was able to be present and "help" during the births. I am still in awe and humbled by what it takes for you to bring a new life into this world.

Congratulations! Yippee I've always wondered what happens to an umbilical cord. It's a silly question that has always been on my mind. If a woman gives birth alone, would she cut the cord on both sides? If so, would she have to tie a knot? I'm imagining something a few feet long. Does it fall off by itself?
