Mallory :
Your real estate contract should have your date that you need to vacate and the new owners take over. Just call your agent and ask when you need to be out. Some new owners are flexible. They probably won't let you stay for free after the date in your contract ( usually the closing date which sounds like yours is Jan. 16 ), but they might rent the place to you for a couple weeks. Ask your agent , your date might even be AFTER the end of Jan. giving you more time than 2 and a half weeks. They can even write the two weeks into the contract ( that you can stay there until Jan. 30th and for what mutually agreed upon price you are paying for the two extra weeks ) . If the seller needs to move in or refuses to rent the two weeks to you .... technically you do need to be out on the date your are supposed to. Keep in mind that new new owners may want a signed contract and a deposit from you ... just like any other real estate rental.
I guess I could have summed that up by saying to call your/Granpas agent, tell them you need two extra weeks, and have them help you.

You may be able to delay your moving out past the closing, but very likely you will have to pay a rental fee, perhaps weekly. But your lawyer will have to draw it up and get it pre-approved by the buyer.

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
