    Default Avoiding rigged amateur night

Hey, I'm going to be doing amateur night in a couple weeks and I was wondering if it was possible to win even if there are "fake" amateurs competing (I'm talking about the girls from other clubs that go in to compete... I know a girl like this and she ALWAYS wins). And even if I don't win is it possible to still get offered a job? Thanks you! you guys are always so helpful

It's tough to avoid, for sure. Girls ALWAYS do this - the ones you can REALLY tell aren't amateurs.

However - I competed in a rigged amateur night at the club I currently work at. Not only did I not win, I didn't even *place*; and they still offered me a job. Try not to worry.

i did an amateur night as an audition at a club. before the contest, they brought us all upstairs, looked us up and down, and said they would offer any of us jobs who wanted them regardless of how we did.
"If she wants to dance and drink all night, well there's no one that can stop her. She's going til the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Yeah we do what we do to get by, and then we need a release!" - Against Me!, "Thrash Unreal"

I went to an amateur night at a Deja Vu and placed either second or third place. The woman who won first place didn't work there but ended up becoming a feature. None of us were hired because they already had too many girls, but told us they'd call us when girls quit. They offered me a job a few months later but I was dancing at another club by then. That one wasn't rigged. Another amateur night was rigged. I got more applause than this big fat ugly girl yet she got third place and was hired. Because I didn't place I wasn't hired. A year later I met the owner of the place (at a party) and told him what happened. According to him the house mom was bringing in her buddies and making sure they were hired. When the owner found out he fired the housemom and stopped the contest. He offered me a job at the club but it closed before I started. I entered other amateur contests and I know those were rigged. I was even a judge at a male strip contest and was told who to vote for. For what it's worth I do know dancers who didn't win amateur nights, yet still got hired.

In most cases you dont have to win to be hired.

I've seen plenty of this and there's been many times the guys in the audience recognize that the girl knows what she's doing and DON'T vote for her because of it.

In our club the biggest barrier to winning is when a girl brings 50 guy friends with her to cheer her on!
