    Default Luck vs skill

I was in the dressing room the other day and one girl tells her friend who's going out on the floor "good luck" to which she reples "uh, uh, it's not luck its skill". Got me thinking.... on a sucsessful night what percentage can you attribute to skill vs luck. Do you think its 100% skills, 50-50 etc?

To me skill far outweighs luck. I hear guys complain about hot girls all the time and say they don't have the right attitude. That means a few things, he is probably right or she wont talk to the customer who complains.

I'd say it's about 75% skill, 25% luck. Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time.

For me , I think its about 50-50. Yes , you have to have good hustling skills , but without good luck , that doesn't help much around here right now. You can be the best hustler in the world , but if the bad luck gods shine on you and there is only 2 custies in the club that night , theres is not going to be a lot of money made.
How often is it that the one night you take off of work , is the one night in the past month that your club was packed and everyone banked?
You need luck to get the custies in , and be in the right place at the right time , but you need skill to close the sale. Just my 2 cents!

Well, you can only hustle so much money depending on how much is in the club. However, you'll never see most of it if you don't have skills. So I agree with Rockell, it's more skill than luck.

I'd say 50-50. Really dead nights are maybe more skill to make money, but on a normal night 50-50 seems right.

I might be a decent hustler, but if the right guy doesn't walk in, or i happen to be on stage when some girl gets the guy with the money etc, etc, well you get the idea.

Now, spotting a good chance that luck has presented to you, that takes skill

For me, I think it's 80% skill and 20% luck. I've had my share of guys just walking up and immediately requesting a CR. That's so rare. It's skill for me, because I seem to do ok seeking out the right types who are likely to spend more.

The hottest dancer I ever met in my life was ALWAYS complaining about not making money, and it was TRUE! She would make less than most girls and she was BANGIN'!!!! I guess on the floor she had a piss poor attitude, though she was very nice IRL.

One of the very finest dancers I have ever worked with, or seen for that matter, was really bad like this. She hardly ever made anywhere near the money you would have expected. Of course she also worked in shithole bars by choice. Not too bright either, poor thing.

Attitude is more important than luck or even skill, to a large extent. Some of the best hustlers I have ever seen will have off nights or slumps, it happens to everyone once in a while. But a skilled hustler in a really good mood is always a force to be reckoned with.

Attitude will also have a tremendous influence on luck. I have seen guys walk into the club on a dead night many, many times--if there is a dancer having fun onstage, not giving a damn if it's a dead night or who's watching, she'll nail those guys 20 times more often than the dancer sulking and sitting there. Easier said than done, I have a hard time being upbeat some slow nights too, especially now that I am spoiled.

i would say 60%looks 35%skills 5% luck, if you work out when pay day is, sporting events and holidays you can usualy work out busy nights. if you turn up on time you wont miss customers and then there is the talking tem into a vip which is a skill x

We all get lucky at times, but skills/attitude are much more important than anything else. That is why the top earners are not necessarily the best looking with the best bodies. The hustle skills of the dancer far outweigh anything else. Girls that know what to say, when to move on, how to choose the best "candidate" for a dance, and the ones who aren't afraid to approach the custy and are friendly and nice, but still a wee bit pushy and dominate, are the ones who will make the most cash on the most consistent basis.

Yes you should look your best and yes there will be times where you are simply at the right place at the right time, or the guy is just plain in love with you. You can't count on luck/looks if you wanna maximize the cash you will bring home. In order to really make $$$ you will have to "work" for it. I've seen girls who look like playmates that do well/ok most of the time, but are consistently outsold by girls who are a 5, 6, or 7 on a scale of 10 lokkswise, by $200 or more pretty much everynight.

Like gambling, I have reason its more about luck than anything. Even on horrendous nights I've had customers tell me I have a great attitude (I must do a great job of hiding how I really feel on those nights because its all I can do to keep from yelling out of frustration and burying my anger). Before the economy fell in the toilet, I used to get lucky enough to encounter customers that would pay me $100-$200 just to sit and talk with them if they didn't want a dance. I recently heard about a waitress who had never danced in her life make $500 off a guy who took her to VIP on her very first night of dancing. IMO, its about luck more than anything now with the economy the way it is. A bouncer/mgr once told me that girls with the perfect look often make the least amount of money because guys automatically assume she's expensive. Sometimes I wonder about that but then, its become a known fact that there are guys who actually feel intimidated by hot looking girls and feel right at home with less attractive ones. I know of one girl who is about a 4 on a scale of 1 - 10 but she seems to do alright even though she once over exaggerated to me about how much she used to average.

Luck may bring the money in the club, but it takes skills to make it yours.

There may be an element of luck the first time you meet a good customer. Bringing him back for you is pure skill. My best customer ever thought it was pure luck Actually, I knew exactly who he was years before he ever gave me the time of day. But I improved my looks and my skills and one day when he came in I hooked him. To him it was a chance meeting (he never went to my club)but to me it was my white whale. So ya... I was in the right place at the right time but it was years of accumulated skill that brought him back every week for the next year.

And even if the random high roller comes in and gives money to one or a few lucky ladies, those ladies have to stand out from the crowd somehow. The only way to do that is skill - at projecting a friendly attitude, at making them feel great, at looking your best. If you aren't good at your job, all that money will go to someone else.
