Default blonde vs. brunette and earnings

I know there are probably threads about this, but i wanted to post one with pictures so i could get more accurate opinions. I'm really tired of my blonde hair, i hate paying $200 for a trip to the salon, and in certain parts my hair are breaking off like crazy, and i have more split ends than i've ever had before. I really want to dye it back to my natural color (a sort of medium brown), but I'm afraid it will affect my earnings, since we don't really have a ton of blondes in my club. Maybe 30 or 40% are blondes. Part of me says, fuck those guys, I want brown hair, dammit, and part of me says, why should i give myself a disadvantage, i need to earn as much as possible.. Sigh.

The first photo is current, you can see my natural color in my roots (6 weeks growth). The second is an old photo of me (3 years ago) with virgin hair. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

The blonde is gonna be more money and attention for sure. Damn $200 a month for hair salon is ridiculous! It's really not that hard to do your own roots. Feria is tha shizznit and its only a $10 a month habit.

Get a nice wig, then you can keep your hair any color you want it.

I really like the blonde on you, use JOICO K-Pac to help repair the damage and try not use blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, etc.
Also Redken Anti Snap about once a week on towel dried hair. You dont want to use too much of the Anti Snap because its a protein based product which can make you have more breakage if you use too much (friends in the hairdressing business for many yrs told me this.)

Alright, y'all have convinced me, i guess :-P I'll probably go next week to get my roots done before school starts, and I'm going to try a new stylist, hopefully he'll be cheaper.

I think the K Pac is a protein treatments as well. Should be used no more than twice amonth or it will damage the hair.

I actually liked both. Maybe try a different shade of blonde? It's not really bleached , so you must be frying it with heat? Just my guess.
I've had blonde for many years and it didn't break. But I'm a real slacker about styling it.

i like the blonde way, way more. it brightens your face, and makes you look friendlier. the color looks pretty natural on you, too.

You look better in the blonde pic, but maybe it's just the pic. I recently had a hair disaster and had to go brown (only thing I could think of to cover neon yellow and orange- new stylist, lol). I never would have done it otherwise but I'm actually making more money and everyone is raving about it. Most of my friends and even my regulars say they like it better and that I should go a little darker.

Wow, you looked good as a blonde but SO MUCH BETTER brunette!! Like Liv Tyler or something. Now I'm questioning if I should go dark as well.....I'll prolly just go to a wig store and see what I'll look like.

i think you look better with your natural color, but look like more money blonde.

i recently started using nexxus, and i wish i'd started sooner. my hair is in such better shape. the damaged bits still take longer to dry, and feel icky when they're wet, but once they are dry, you can't even tell. it feels just as nice as the virgin hair underneath.

I have been both blonde and brunette so from personal experience I can say I make as much money blonde as I do brunette. I've had guys spend a ton of money on me either way, and I've even had some comment that they like the fact that my hair is so dark. From your pics I can see you can make both work for you as well. Brunette doesn't have to be girl next door (think Adriana Lima of Victoria's Secret). I'm so happy I stopped destryoing my hair with bleach and it's finally starting to be healthy again. If brunette is really the way you want to go then try it out. Have your hair dresser dye it with a semi-permanent color so it can be easily lifted. I don't recommend the over the counter dyes because they use a ton of ammonia which ruins your hair. If you decide to stay blonde, make sure you're using a good shampoo and conditioner (like Biolage for color treated hair) and not something like Pantene Pro-V because while your hair will look fantastic, a shampoo like Pantene is full of formaldahide (spelling?) that will slowly destroy your hair. Also, deep condition at least once a week for at least a full 15 min. I swear by the "it's a 10" products (the miracle hair mask and the miracle leave in product). You also can't go wrong with the Lanza shampoo or treatments either. They're fabulous and have worked wonders for my over processed hair.
