Now, I have a Mistubishi 3000GT. Not exactly the best car for snow, but it is front wheel drive, and I put excellent tires on it, so it handles reasonably well in bad weather.
I had to drive back to school today, and the weather report said there would be rain, a little flurries later on.
So I'm driving, there's a little slushy rain, no biggie. I had no problems until I got into campus. It was a solid 4 inches of ice/snow. My car could not handle it. I tried to turn, my car plowed on straight. I managed to stop the car, and with a combination of pumping the breaks and constant gas, I managed to turn the car and get it moving again.
I'm a half-mile from my apartment, and this guy behind me is giving me a really hard time. He was right on top of me (like bumpers almost touching), beeping at me and such (even though I had my flashers on and I kept waving at him to go around me).
I get to my complex, and try to turn in but my car slides forward and into the curb, but I managed to at least get the car out of the road/traffic (I maneuvered it well out of the way of the guy behind me, it would have been very simple for him to just drive forward), so I gave up, and put it in park. The guy drives obscenely close to me, SCREAMS at me, and flips me off.
It really bugged me (and is still bothering me now). I was already near tears, and this jerk is going to hound me because my car was sliding in the snow? It's a miracle he didn't hit me with as close as he was to my car the whole time. My boyfriend says I should have just hit the breaks and let him hit me, and have had him buy me a new car.
What the heck is wrong with people? OBVIOUSLY he should have seen that the girl in the little sports car was having a tough time. The roads weren't plowed/salted anything, I did my best. Flashers on, going slow...not much I could do.
