Hey ladies,
Some of you may know that I have been working for a private party company while I danced for the past few months. This past Friday night, myself and two other dancers had a very bad experience when attempting to leave a bunk show and we were all assaulted. Due to this, I am obviously going to stop working for a private company because of how unsafe it is to do so.
My friends and family (understandably) do not want me to dance anymore but the truth is that there is no way I can continue to go to school full time and receive good grades while making enough money to support myself and put myself through school without dancing! I've tried the numbers a million different ways on paper and it's just not going to happen. I enjoy being financially independent and I take pride in the fact that I am paying for all of my own college education at this point. SO - I need to figure out what to do.
There are many private companies here (central valley, CA) and two small SC's here in town. I do not want to work at either of those for various reasons. The next 2 closest SC's are Cheetah's in Visalia (I believe) and Deja Vu in Bakersfield (about 2 hr. drive from me). I am willing to travel but wanted to put this out there for any advice any of you ladies may have.
Would it be more lucrative to pay airfare and try to dance elsewhere? With the economy, it just makes me nervous that I wouldn't make back my travel costsI am willing to entertain any ideas that you ladies may have and I am not limiting working in California alone. If there are any clubs out of state that may work in your opinion I'd like to hear about it. Also, if you wouldn't mind including whether any clubs you mention work on a set schedule or are more freelance that would be really helpful.
Thanks so much girls in advance for any help you may have. I need to make a decision soon because rent is almost due and I just went broke last week paying for uber expensive textbooks!
Hugs, Lex
