Default I accidently died my hair black :(

I'm a brunette. In the winter, I usually dye my hair a shade darker, so it's dark dark brown. I don't know what happened, but my hair turned black! Like, purpley blue black. Is there any way to lift this color? I'm too poor to go to a salon. I look like the lady from the Addams family. Help!!

This happened to me when I went from medium to dark brown; if your hair is at all damaged (do you use heat-based tool? sytraightening irons/curling irons/ blow -dry a lot? or do you dye every 6 weeks or so?) it sucks up the dye more severely, resulting in that goth-black thing.

If you can't afford a salon treatment, you can lighten it gradually (recommended if your hair feels dry) with a strong detergent shampoo. I used Prell for about a week (at Kmart and stuff for about $2) and it brought the color from pitch black to a nice warm brown.

If you absolutely can't stand the wait, and your hair is in decent shape, you can get "Color-Oops" at Kmart/Walmart/CVS, which strips the dye from your hair. You will have to buy hair dye to put ont op once your done, so all said, it would cost you $20-30.

That Addams family gal, Morticia, was hot. Maybe you are too.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

Did you just dye it? My hair usually looks black the first 1-2 weeks after dying dark brown... so I agree about the prell to wash/fade it out. Good luck! :

go to sally beauty and get a professional color fixer. Color Oops or a product actually called "color fixer" will shrink the dye molecules so they wash out of your hair without damaging it. you can use it multiple times to get the shade you want.

I used to to lighten the purple and blue streaks in my hair and it didn't damage it at all.

wash it with dishsoap a few times. take a shower and repeatedly lather, let sit, and rinse, lather, let set, and rinse. then leave a deep conditioner on according to directions, and it should have lightened up a few stages. if that didn't work, THEN go get color corrector.

I'd be careful w/detergent stuff, it can damage your hair. I also got a much darker color (from a drugstore prod.), I asked around, went to Sally's & a lic. beauticin directed me to some stuff. It's tricky however, & I decided to go to Ulta where I'd had color done before. If you do go the 'do it yourself' route, I'd suggest having someone to help you, preferably some one with experience. Good luck.

dish soap is a lot gentler on your hair than ammonias and peroxides, which are often in color removers.

they used dish soap to get all of the oil off of the animals when the exxon valdez capsized.

    walmart sells permanent-hair-dye remover

i know cigarette ash removes permanent black stains from skin. I dunno about hair tho, but I don't know how open minded or how far your go. It might make it fade

Ok here is the deal with black. It tends to naturally wash out on its own or fade quicker than most tints. Hopefully in your case this is what happens. Whatever you do, DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT STRIP IT OUT OF YOUR HAIR. For starters if you even try this it will not work the first time around and you'll have to do it more than once. Secondly you will have to recolor your hair and get back to a normal ph balance and this takes a lot of money and time and causes a lot of damage. So if it does fade soon then you should be allright, eventually you will get used to it. If it doesn't fade then go to a beauty supply and ask for some extra help and something cheaper yet not damaging. Keep in mind that black is the most damaging and toughest tint to get out because it tends to be the most permanent and has all three complimentary colors in it. Good luck!
