    Default Goth girls

I was at my local Hustler Club recently and saw a dancer with long jet black hair, tattoos everywhere, and pierced nipples. I was just mesmerized by her appearance and a little unnerved. I assume she is a Goth , Suicide, and/or God's girl. She may be a dominatrix for all I know, beats the hell out of me (pun intended).

I'm having a tough time phrasing this question so bear with me. Other than appearance what else makes up this lifestyle? I was going to approach her and ask her all sorts of questions about herself because I was so intrigued by her appearance but my SW training kicked in and I thought I'd better not.

For all of you heavily tattooed and pierced girls does it get old being asked about your appearance? Even if I am paying for your time?

Just a warning, if you ladies beat me up over this I will bring HockeyBobby into this thread.

I doubt she wants to get asked a million questions about it and really what is it that you want to know? Yeah she is tatted, black hair, piercings....so? Why do you look how YOU look? Prolly because you like it yeah? Most likely she isnt "goth", thats just what ppl who dont know the scene say if someone has black hair and piercings...more than likely she is just into the hardcore scene and thats how she chooses to express herself.

i don't care if people ask me a billion questions so long as it's polite and i'm getting paid for my time/doing dances/whatever.

    an example:

    polite =
i like your hair/tattoos/piercings ... where did you get it/how did you do it?
what music do you listen to?
what kind of books/movies are you into?
what sort of clubs do you go to?
what does bdsm mean/are you into that/etc (so long as it's respectful)?

    not polite and/or retarded =
why would you do that *pokes at my nose ring with finger*?
what are you supposed to be, like.. one of those goth girls are something *snide look*?
    do you worship the devil?
    so you like, beat people?
so you like, want to be beaten?
so are you like, depressed or something?

    hope that helps

Thank you! That's what I was looking for.

Why would I want to ask questions? I found her appearance fascinating and interesting. In general I like people who march to the beat of a different drummer.

That used to be considered goth but now it's pretty mainstream. Not all Goths have tattoos or black hair. A clear indicator is the music they listen to and perhaps the way they dress. If they start talking about the Victorian era or how cool Germans are you've got yourself a real Goth! If shes dragging a little coffin lunch box up on stage she at least shops at Hot Topic.

That is just being general so no flames please. Goths are picky about their music and like role playing and that could be anything from cosplay, BDSM to a Macabe tea party and sometimes they are into vampires and alternate societies.

I would hope a person with a loud appearance like that would not get all crabby for asking questions. Seriously.

I like to stay away from the 'goth' word cuz as far as I know its a lifestyle. I like to say the people who dress like that are 'rockers' cuz thats probably the genre they listen to, then theres the specifics like 'emo' 'punk' ect ect ect, its all rock ish, then again im from seattle area I think we are rocker capital bwa ha ha. I dress like that and shop at hot topic cuz i think the look is really hot

I can't tell you how many times I've had those remarks and it's really annoying. Same with having tattoos and being asked if I "like pain" or am into that "dominatrix stuff" For god's sake my hair isn't even black, it's dark brown and I still get this stuff.

BIG misconception. I would hate when a guy would turn me down for a dance cause he said I "looked like I would kick his ass" or when I try to sell a VIP and get asked "No, I'm afraid your gonna tie me up back there...what do you have like whips and chains hidden back there"

and I have brown hair and only 6 tattoos.

I have tattoos, dark hair and piercings...and I hated being called Goth. To me, I am just a rocker chick, as Meleania pointed out.

The questions that Pretty_Penny listed are really good to have on hand. I love it when people ask my about my tattoos or about my choice in music. It really gets me excited to converse with them. Usually, I will sit with these customers a bit longer, as they are fun to hold conversation with and appreciate the fact that I am not like all the other girls. I appreciate people who can appreciate my uniqueness.

Also, never assume she is into BDSM. I am, but most other people are not. I am a trained Dominatrix, but I am not a submissive, and one thing that does get on my nerves is when a guy comes over and asks me if I like to be spanked/tied up/beaten. To me, that is one of the most insulting things a guy could do/ask. Unless SHE addresses the BDSM topic, I would not bring it up.

When you ask "what else makes up this lifestyle," you ask a very vague question. For all you know, she could dress that way because she attracts a very specific type of client that she prefers to work with (although I doubt it, with the tats and piercings...). One girl at my club, Rian (who is on here) is tatt'd and pierced too, but she and I are two diff. people. Just approach her like you would any other girl and show interest in the fact that she has ink and piercings and don't be afraid to talk to her.

Dumb questions my friend and I always got for wearing black, being pale, using black/red makeup, havingf pericings, tats, being on the hardcore side of seductress in our club. She was a rocker and I'm just me even if I do consider myself sort of a widely diverse person with alot of old school goth in me.

    Anyhow--we got asked alot.

Are we vampires, do we worship Satan, do we like pain, . All of which if it sparked interest from a customer paying good money to entertain this fnasty we played into. The answer was always yes becuz we wanted to roleplay into the curiousity of it and we would make it hott just by playing along. However we knew they had noclue what they were asking and give them total BS really just to humor ourselves with thier stupidity. I'll give them the classic my eyes bleed in sunlight routine bs if that's what they expected from us. Which did work to make us money manytimes as 2 evil vampire dom lesbian/bi goth girls did get us rooms together regularly. Still for us that was fun silly roleplay that we really didn't take seriously and hoped they really didn't either.

Now if some1 actaully want to have an honest conversation with me as a goth not me as thier idea of a Goth Character that is ABC stereotype of what goth is in thier head 1st they have to talk to me like a person (knowing that I don't speak as a goth becuz every goth has different views on things just like any other person out there ) and they have to address me in a way that shows me that they are open minded to actaully hearing and dicuss what ever it is that they are asking me to talk about.

They don't have a free pass to assume my favorite color is black or anything like that. If they talk to me about goth music then they should expect to have a conversation about groups, styles, and songs that they may or may not of heard of before as a non goth. If they want to talk to me about image..ect..ect it all good as long as thier isn't all the judgments and they they assume about goths thrown in.

For 1 I like certin pain and love tattoos, but I really don't care for the feeling of the needle that many people speak of enjoying. Not my thing I much rather num the whole thing and not feel it, but that's not ussually an option however I could do with it as for me my tattoo are about teh finished bodyart and the meaning taht goes along with that time in my life when I got them. It really honestly had nothing to do with liking the pain of the needle in my skin. Nomatter how many poeple assume that was part of why I got them that I like pain in general--when really no. That is not the case.

So my point is as long as you talk to a goth as a person you should be fine. If you talk to a goth as a character or stereotype then maybe they will mock you, play into it, tell you to get lost, not talk to you at all, or who knows. It's best to ask questions of a person with an openmind for an honest personal response no matter who or what they are in must cases.

    Agreed.

If she caught your attention there is nothing wrong with striking up a convo. You are all there to do business, she would have lead you in the right direction.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

I don't think using the term "Goth" is offensive in itself. There are so many subcultures of goth it's really difficult to pin-point one on a stripper. I did a research paper on goth and where it originally started. It was a race of people and now it's just a way of life. I think when it comes to a dancer that just leaving at rocker chic would cover a girl better. But who knows because I danced to The 69 Eyes and The Who and Cradle of Filth. So I think everyone just percieves it differently. ^_^

I went to the club today and spent some time, and money, with the dancer who inspired my post. She's an interesting young lady. Her 'look' is inspired by Betty Page. She has a tattoo of Betty Page on her forearm.

She mentioned a lot of customers said they were intimidated by her looks. On top of the black hair, tattoos, and piercings she stands over 6' in her stripper shoes.

    Thanks ladies for the input.

i'm glad you went back and spent time with her. the "intimidation" thing is the reason i cover my leg tat a lot and take out my piercings at work. i only wear them when i know it will be crowded and i -want- to stand out, otherwise guys are too easily put-off. for every 1 guy that's in love with a "different" look, there are 15 who aren't. i can't even wear my SG necklace at work anymore, because when guys ask me what it is and i try to explain, all they hear is the word "suicide" and they get all freaked out. *sigh* sure, there are guys who know exactly what suicidegirls is, but they aren't the majority.

Good to know. Although I haven't seen any goth dancers at the clubs I go to, and although I would be intimidated by them, I would certainly say something to a dancer who goes out of her way to dress unusually or wear unusual jewelry.

i didn't mean customers asking me what i was into or general questions about it. i mean't discussions amongst people within the sub culture about what exactly is means and who exactly fits the bill. i think 90% of all threads with the term "goth" in it eventually turn into that debate. you know, who is a real "goth" and who is a "poser" and etc etc etc.

I guess the practical problem for any dancer with a slightly unconventional lifestyle is whether the visible signs of that lifestyle (tats, piercings, etc) translate into a negative impact on earnings while at work.

There's a subconscious tendency to assume that people within what ever social group we mentally assign ourselves to are going to be more likable/acceptable than people from social groups we attach (however unwarranted) negative connotations to.

I do wonder if being too visibly unconventional can be a bit of a drawback for a dancer.

    Phil.
i touched on that before. that's why i cover my leg tat (which is my more "offensive" tat) fairly often and i take out my piercings. i find that "my look" is only an advantage for me when it's very busy and there are a lot of girls. i think in those cases it's better to stand out. but, when there's only 7 girls on shift and a handful of customers i feel the need to tone it down. otherwise i get the feeling (that intimidation thing) that customers are put-off by me. when it's busy, it's more like "oh, i want that goth/punk girl".

you know, i think the most humorous part about the whole thing is that i've noticed one of the biggest "misconceptions" (from customers confessing after talking to me) is that they thought (before hand) that i must be "depressed" or "angry" or "have issues". when, the reality is that i have more of a sense of humor and am generally more down to earth than quite a lot of the "normal" looking girls.

that whole judging a book by its cover thing goes both ways.

I dont like the reference "goth"...Another thing to add: Not everyone who is "goth" has black hair and piercings..Someone who is blonde, has only her ears pierced, large boobs, and no tats can be "goth" as well--Me. But I am old school--All the cofeehouses and places me and my friends used to frequent r all torn down now....But my ex bf owns three clubs(alt/goth/fetish scene--love swinging on the sex swing) about 100 miles from here..Some of my friends-aquaintences span from the older(sometimes victorian)-my generation to the newer-more-hottopic generation.

i am frequently mistaken for "goth" because of tattoos and piercings. but i don't consider myself to be goth at all. i hate being asked about it.
