Angry How should these situations be dealt with?

I'm really getting sick of all the bullshit racist stories I hear and the things I experience myself, but this one recently took the cake.

A friend of mine went to work at this fairly new club in vegas (they renamed it) anyway...wait why am I trying to protect the name? The name is Velvet Lion. Anyway She went in and got hired and worked for about 3 weeks and was making good money. So good that she didn't even go back to her main club to work anymore.

So here comes the bullshit. One night she goes in to work (let me remind you she is the only black girl working there) and the owner comes in or either it was the main manager or something. He walks up to her and she extended her hand and said "hello my name is blah nice to meet you". He responded "don't touch me! who hired you?" she then told him who hired her. So he started screaming the managers name on the walkie talkie to meet him in the back.

She ended up going back there behind them but they didn't see her. She hears him screaming about how he hates NIGGERS and doesn't want them in his club unless he picks them. a whole bunch of other bullshit that I wont get into...but wait! it gets better! She is told by the house mom " hey sweetie we have a lot of girls and the manager said he will give you a call if some slots open up in the future" My friend then started packing up her stuff and proceeded to leave. When she got out of the building guess who was waiting for her?????

THE COPS! He called the cops on her and said she was trespassing. Ok I won't even get deeper into this story I'll leave it there.

I'm sick of bullshit like this happening to myself and women that I know. This has happened to a lot of girls at a lot of the clubs out here. So the question is...what should we do?

What the fuck dude? File a damn lawsuit against the motherfucker! This lawsuit has plenty of grounds. Shit like this makes we want to go back to my fucking house in the middle of nowhere and just disappear.

    TIME TO LAWYER UP!!!

Your friend should (while it is all fresh in her mind) put in writing her WHOLE experience with said club from the very first phone call or visit to the club to the very last nite she worked...she should include all dates and times, names, how she was treated by particular employees, what she overheard, etc etc etc.
Then call a LAWYER! most give a free consultation, and im sure she won't have any trouble finding one willing to take the case...

so sorry that your friend had to go through this, i really am. i am white but have many friends of different race, ethnicity, and religion and have witnessed several times them being harassed or discriminated and it so saddening and angering..

i give the above advice because that is EXACTLY what i would do and is the same advice i would give a friend of mine...

i hope everything works out and best of luck.

I know the girl you are talking about, one of my other girlfriends told me about it. Did this girl fill out paperwork? They made me fill out a bunch of it. There should be proof she is hired and I would sue the ever-loving shit out of them.

Did you read my review of that place? The owner straight up told us he thinks dancers are the cheapest people he knows and always want something for nothing. They can take their fancy-ass garage and shove it.

FUCK THEM UP THE ASS WITH NO LUBE. Seriously.

I will be sure to pass this information on to her so she can handle this situation. Thank you

I'm pretty sure she did fill out paperwork but I didn't ask her. I will read the review after I post this.

The only problem I have with the whole "SUE THEM" approach is...this is vegas! You never know who is connected with what or what is going on, you know? She could file a lawsuit but the question is...will she make it to court? that's one of the only reasons that out of the many times I've experienced things like this that I've never filed a lawsuit.

Oh my god....and I thought the manager at MY club was racist, damn. I feel so bad for that girl, I probably would have broke down into tears if I was her. She should at least consult a lawyer, just to see what they say. Yeah, she might not win a lawsuit or anything, but it never hurts to try.
