    Default exercise motivator

Hey, just thought I'd share something that works for me.

I need to lose like 40 lbs, like years ago. Anyway I can never get motivated it's just so depressing.

So, I calculated how many calories to lose that weight by exercise alone it equals about 140,000 calories. 3500=lb

As soon as the snows over I'll be walking aroung the lake, so I took of 16,000 for doing that 4 times a week for two months (March and April).

I have about 125,000 left to burn. I was nice and rounded each hour at the gym to 500 calories. That means I have 250 hours to burn before I can dance or have sex for that matter (I'm just a perfectionist kind of when it comes to sex).

Anyway, I haven't missed a day at the gym yet because if I don't get out for that hour, it's still sitting there for me to do before I'll be in shape again.

Having been anorexic before counting calories is kind of not a good way for me. It feels like torture and it's not as positive as feeling like the exercise will take care of it.

I'm still watching my diet but don't have that all or nothing mentality because my gym hours would take off the weight provided I'm eating healthy.

I like to have task to complete and 250 hours of gym time in the next few months for what I've convinced myself is a guaranteed result is so much easier.

Plus watching the booty popping thread gets me pumped!

What's your motivation to work out?

Thinking about what I want in the end. Not in terms of pounds, calories and size, but rather ability and confidence. Dancing at work w/o getting tired, more energy to get through my life in general, better health, not having to dance around and fight to put on my jeans, more confidence which will then equal more money. And knowing that I actually have the willpower to do something I put my mind to (b/c I seriously lack willpower). Things like that keep me running on the treadmill when I want to stop.

I have done that same type of calculations before to figure out exactly what I need to do to lose the weight. Back when I had an ED I did one for exercise one for calories. The number was so high, I just got discouraged. haha.

Now I think about how I've been the same weight since I stopped dancing. How I've tried diets and plans, but nothing consistantly. I just need consistancy, you know? It motivates me to think that 20-40 lbs over the course of the year is less than 2-4lbs per month. It's not a big sacrifice to go to the gym a few times a week to get those results.

I used to have a goal of working out for 270 minutes per week. That's motivating because what I do now I don't have to do later. I would get most of the exercise in in the first 4 days and then be able to do it sparingly the rest of the days.

    Other motivaters?
I don't own a scale, so I have to go to the gym to use one.
30 day shred is a 20 minute workout that kicks my ass, but also gets me pumped up to do a little more. I can easily tell myself 'just 20 minutes' especially in the morning before my shower, right in the comfort of my own room. Then the rest of the day I'll be bouncy and I'll do jumping jacks to break up the monotony of studying. It just helps to know that I'll feel good the rest of the day if I just DO IT.

Hells yeah. I actually prefer mens' magazines for this. A little more curves....

Also, whoever posted that picture of Helen Mirren thank you.

She is awesome - talented and HOT. (and 60 something)

I would love to know what she does.

Men find all of it beautiful, thank god.

I missed the gym today, but I am still so psyched

Life doesn't stop or slow down, so now is the time to live like I want!
