Default minimum earnings you will accept for dancing?

my last similar posting was supposed to include a poll, but I had computer glitches and it posted without.

Anyway, with the economy going down the crapper, and most of us seeing a decrease in our earnings, I've begun wondering, at what point would I rather get another job and hang up the heels. So, what's your bottom line? How much do you need to make for stripping to be worth it to you?

I usually work about 5 or 6 hours at a time, so $150-ish would be my minimum. I almost always make more, but I wouldn't be pissed to leave with $150. Still better than the minimum wage I make at my crappy internship!

I work ten hour [min] shifts 4 days a week. I don't care about my DAILY earnings because its so varied now , I would be pissed a lot. But I expect to make $1200 a week. I can pay my bills and taxes with that. Sure , more would be nice , but lets not be to picky here , right? lol

And there has been a weeks this yr where I did not make that. But at sometime in that same month , I made enough to make up for it plus some. So I guess I should say I expect to make $4800 a month. I might be able to handle 1 month without making it. I might can go down to 4k . But more then two months of making less then 4k [for working 160+ hrs!]and I will be looking for a new job.

I was the person who voted at the $50.00 mark. Where I live it's damn near impossible to get a job. I know a few people who have been out of work for literally over a year! I'm thinking that some money is better than no money, and depending on the club atmosphere (i'm talking about a relaxed club where there's not too many problems or drama) it would be worth it for so little... as long as you made more sometimes. I don't know. I waitressed for a pretty good restaurant for a while and would work from 10am to 3pm with bitchy women, rude men, and awful customers for consistently less than $50.00, and my wage was only $2.13/hour. Not exactly the same thing, but kind of comparable.

It would have to be no less than $5000 a month (and that's working no more than 5 days a week).

Hell to the no! I need to make a minimum $500 a night, 3 nights a week to make this job worthwhile. That's only 75K a year, which is not a lot of money in this part of the world (northern NJ).

The only reason I'm ok with making so little is that A) most weeks I'm able to overshoot my goal and B) it means only working 3 days a week. I could work more to make more, but then what's the point of stripping? With my college education I could get a "real job" that paid only marginally less but required a mind numbing 9-5 schedule, something I've tried and found miserable.

Of course I've left the club with less than $500, but I keep myself to a weekly goal and average everything out. Very rarely do I miss my goal, even with a $300 night thrown in here and there. Once I start having $300 nights on a regular basis it's time for a new club or a new job.

$340 would be my min. nightly goal ( if I go back .... I haven't worked in a few months ) . My constraints are different though because I was only working outside my home area. I can usually squeeze one night of dancing in when my day job send me somewhere (no extra costs) , but if I want to work 2 nights, I need a hotel and rental car for that extra night. So ... hotel + car = About $80 unless I stay in a dive. That's $40 a night for dancing "costs". 2 nights of dancing can yeild $600 if I make $340 nightly averages ( which was usually very doable.... below that number is the point that I get irritated) . So I voted $300.

I already quit and it happened when I started making less than $1,000 per weekend (I only worked weekends).... but I marked $300 because that's what I would expect if I was working locally - and that's on average - not each shift. So, one day I make $100 and the next $500 thats fine. When my average drops lower than that my heels are hung up - which they are.

Normally my minimum is 400 as that would be a crap night at my club. In the next few months I'm okay with $100 to $150 but if I don't get back up to $400 on a regular basis by March I'll look at other avenues.

My club is weird this time of year especially since we have legal issues and house is not cheap. If I were anywhere else I'd be done but dancing in my areas has treated me very well so I'll stick it out for a bit then make the call.

I chose $100 and that's why I'm not dancing right now. It used to be at least $200 and I felt that was bad, but once I started thinking in terms of "oh god please let me make $100 tonight", i said fuck it all to hell.

Are you guys referring the least minimum to work with just dancing topless or fully nude?

AngelEyez - YES, YES, YES! I used to be all, "Eh, $400's cool. I can live with that. I'll have an $800 night soon... "

And then I started saying that about $200, and then finally $100, and then on down to $50 and finally, well, screw it. That's a hell of a lot of maintenance for waitressing wages. For real. But that of course is a lame set of options no matter how you look at it...

Hell, I was making $100 a night waitressing and I was at a dive of a restaurant.

I used to settle for $200 a night at my dive club because that was average for dancers. Now I settle for 100-150 a shift at my new club because it's been dead this month or two and I only work days.

I put $100 a shift. Because, really, that's a week (or two weekends) working min wage, that's a GOOD night waitressing, and it's what I need to pay my bills and still have starbucks every day before work. And I work 4-5 shifts a week.

But, I really only need enough money to see myself through school (and pay the bills in the meantime). If I graduate free of debt, I'll consider dancing worthwhile.

I chose, min $200. Everyone has off nights, but they better be few far and in between.

My minimum amount to keep me in the SC is @ least 1,500 in no more than 4 shifts. When I work 4 shifts, I better make more than that!!

i don't really have a minimum anymore...it's been sooo slow in my area that i wouldn't want to go home pissed off every night. luckily i have a few regs that make sure i have what i need. plus im only 22 so i moved back in with mom so i can pay off ALLLLLLLLL of my dept before i head back into the real world. and i don't want to deal with the stress of starting school on MONDAY (geez), paying off OLD bills, paying my CURRENT bills (rent, utilities, food, gas, etc) AND having to deal with the possibility of not making enough money to cover everything. so if i don't have all of that added stress at work...i just make more. so right now, im just happy to have a job. seeing as how millions of americans have been laid off in recent months...

200 minimum for full nude/full contact.

though, i don't think i'd be willing to bust my ass in 8" heels for less topless or lower contact. especially lower contact. those dances are more work physically.

My minimum to not be complaining is 150 on a weeknight, and 250 on a weekend, or 1000 in 4 shifts or less. If I was in one place long enough to accumulate regulars, you can bet it'd be higher, though.

Aside from the fact that I like it, dancing is pretty much the only job I can have that accomodates my travel schedule without burning bridges. I can walk into a club in most cities and say "Hi, I'm only here for two months," and still get to work. So really, as long as I'm making more than I might get bartending in a similarly sized bar (a similarly sized bar to the sorts of clubs I like working at would be the same as that little bar on the corner with the 50 year old chick behind the bar, and only one pool table that sort of works), I try not to complain.

Although, as I keep finding myself saying on the day I came back to SW, I sure do miss 2007 and Jan 2008...

When mine got to less than 200 I got seriously pissed off and frustrated and stressed. Meh. Thinking about those days is a let down. Because of what used to be so amazing.

same here (minus the NJ part, but I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US.) I just took an anti-burnout break in a stage-only club and couldn't believe people were happy making ~$50/weeknight, $100/weekend night...how does anyone live on that? And why would you want to, considering what we have to do for it? If that was all the money I needed, I'd go back to keeping my clothes on and slinging drinks in a regular club or bar. I dance because I want way more.

i expect and budget for $30 an hour, but average $50 an hour. If my average were to drop to $30 an hour Id go back to the checkout
