    Default Working while pregnant

One of the girls I work with is pregnant. She is about four months along. Last night she said that she was worried about working while she was pregnant, she thought she could harm her baby. Another girl vehemently denied this, saying that nothing she could do on stage or in private dances could hurt the baby. Is this true? I know that I have members of my yoga class that had to stop or do extremely modified moves when they were pregnant. Does anyone here know what moves she should avoid, if any?
When it comes down to it, I'll let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better then them.

I agree that is not the best situation to be in , but if you must , and I did............

Only work untill you start to show. No one wants to see a prego stripper. Sure , there are some fetish crazies , but for the most part.....

Not only is the smoke bad for you , you also need to worry about the fights that happen when you get a bunch of drunks in a room. Have her keep a extra eye out at all times , so she can remove herself if things look like there going downhill. Have any bouncer friends who can keep a special eye on her?

The shoes will kill your feet. The swelling sucks. Ask managment if there cool if she can drop down to some 3-4 inch heels instead.
No pole tricks , no rough floorwork.
Watch out for the gropers , those puppies [breasts] are sensitive!!!!

I don't see anyway a private dance [meaning lapdance or CR, right?] could hurt the baby.

It is twice as important now to eat well , get enough sleep , drink lots of water , and take good care of yourself. This go for all pregnant women , but even more so for those who work in a physically demanding job.
Is it possiable to cut back on shifts any? 3 -6 hour shifts is better then 4-4 hr ones IMHO.
Take breaks often , and SIT down whenever you can.
A thick garter belt can help hide your bump for awhile longer.

And of course make sure the bartender knows she is to be served virgin drinks. It would be awful is someone made a mistake and sent a gin and tonic instead of a sprite!

A nice bubble bath in epson salt when you get home always helps.
And last but not least.... sock away as much money as you can. Once you start showing , your stuck untill at least 6 weeks post baby. At least 6 weeks.
    Good luck!

Oh , I had a friend who did some prego cam work... it might be a option for her to check into if she needs to work.

I personally couldn't do it. I quit back in June, a week after I found out I was pregnant....and I can't wait to go back, lol.

But anyway, only she knows her body. And if she is worried, she might want to talk to her doc about it. I wouldn't go by what others say on this. What's good for one, may not be good for someone else, ya know?

When I was pregnant I didn't go on stage but I was advise not to do any jarring moves like bending over or coming up too quickly. That includes picking up heavy objects outside the club.

Depending on the person or how far along they are weird moves can induce labor but that is about it. There is not much you can do that would harm little babies in utero.

Thank you ladies! I showed her this thread, and all your helpful tips. She is going to go to her doctor and tell him what she does, so she can be more carefully monitored by him. Also, I do have one of my bouncer friends keeping an eye on her now. Luck for her we work at a no touch club so gropers are rare. The dancers are not allowed to drink either, so she doesn't have that worry to contend with. Again thank you very much ladies you put our minds at ease

If she just takes her time and moves a little slower she should be fine. But my friend that is pregnant gets tired often lol so that may be the only real factor for now haha.
