    Default C25k

Has anybody done the couch to 5k program? It's supposed to help you learn how to run better in 9 weeks. I've been on week 1, for wayyy longer than I'm supposed to be, and it still kicks my ass. Does anybody know any other ways of building up endurance to run longer?

Yup, that's the link...they also have podcasts for it too, that play music, and tell you when to run, and when to walk.

Kyleigh, I'm about to start my C25K process today.

Are you running outside or on a treadmill? I went to the C25k forum and they said there is no "I'm running to slow" or "to fast" Everyone has their own pace.

I know for me, when I'm on a treadmill, I fast walk at around 3.5. For the first time in life, I jogged on the treadmill lol. I was at 5.7. Do you use treadmill or outside?

Are you a drinker or a smoker? They said just making an effort is what counts. Push yourself, but don't push to hard ya know.

^Totally agree. If using a treadmill, so many people assume you have to go at least 6.0-6.6. NO! The Couch to 5k Program is based on running for endurance, then building speed later.

So feel free to do a jog 5.6/5.7ish for th eprogram. As your enduranc ebuilds, then you can pick up the pace.

Hey CK! I run on a treadmill at the moment, but when I finish the program, I'll probably do it outside. I don't smoke, and only drink about twice a year. I walk at 4.0 but sometimes I have to lower it down to 3.5 after I finish my one minute of running, lol. I mainly run at 6.0, but sometimes it does get tough and I do it at 5.6. The program definitely helps, if you do it consistently. If I miss a week or two, it feels really tough when I try to go back to it.
