    Default tonalin & side effects

I started taking Tonalin for a few days now, and I've noticed my skin getting oil yesterday and today (it's normally a bit dehydrated this time of year). I also started to get my period today, weird considering I am regular & on birth control & just had my period last week. Anyone else experience similiar side effects? I am thinking of taking 3 a day instead of 6 and just working my way up.

Personally, I don't take tonolin anymore, despite all the ravings I hear on the web about it. When I took it about a year ago, my palms turned orange!!! You read correctly. I posted on here about my experience if you wanna search the thread. I asked my physician about it, and she couldn't explain it. I chose to discontinue tonolin.... the orangeness went away after a few days. I am just a lil weirded out by that stuff.

That is odd and very unsettling! I am a bit sketched out that there aren't many medical studies out about it, as far as I have found. I wonder how many of the "results" people boast about are due to Mr. Placebo Effect. We'll see!

Damn, I hope I don't have any bad side-effects. Especially problems with my period, as mine is already long. The only slight problem I've noticed, is sometimes feeling like I have to vomit, for 30 minutes after I take it, but I haven't actually vomited yet.

How odd. I take it, and I haven't had any problems.

That weird palms thing though..that's a doozy.

I've been taking it for several months, the only effect being much softer skin... I think a lot of people are experiencing the placebo effect. Who knows.

I've taken it a little bit here and there. I do notice my skin is a lot softer. And for being a little thick I still look OK.

But, I only take 1 maybe 2 capsules a day.

It's an omega fatty acid if I'm right and you have to take them in the right proportion to each other. I don't know the numbers, but I take flaxseed oil (3), tonalin/safflower (6), and olive oil (9).

I myself just make sure I use all three that same day.

It supposedly can cause inflammation and heart or artery problems or something, but I think it's when you take too much.

Personally I think 6 caps is too much.

    ^^Tonalin is CLA. It's a healthy fat. It won't cause heart/artery probs.

I read it somewhere. I think the gist was if you take a lot without balancing it with othere omegas. I don't know for sure, I'll see if I can find anything about it.

OK this is just some stuff, don't know if it's reputable but I believe a little of everything.

I think moderate use is probably OK, but I'd rather work out that take 6 pills a day, just in case....

I still use it and think its OK though.

Anyway I have read about balancing omegas in a certain ratio, just to lazy to look it up right now.

This thread is quite the discouraging one. I have never felt side effects and while I didnt get thinner, my skin did soften up a ton. It was not a placebo effect.

I didn't have any bad side effects when I took it. I didn't pay much attention to my skin at the time since I hadn't seen the threads here, but I did see a reduction in fat on my body (I was working out at the time I took it though). Lots of fitness enthusiasts/body builders/bikini fitness competition ladies swear by it.

My skin has changed too, but in a bad way. I'm not totally sure if it's because of the Tonalin. I have minor eczema (like little patches the size of a dime.) I only had 3 on my body, but I've gotten more since I started the Tonalin I'm going to try to finish up the bottle I have, but I doubt that I will buy it again.

Yeah, the reason I know my skin is getting oilly is because it's noticeably more dehydrated and parched during the winter.... then two days after I started taking this stuff, I have tons of oil around my nose and my makeup disappears by midday. I'm gonna give it a rest for a bit, order the Natrol kind, and take half of what I started off taking.

That's weird cause I noticed my skin is a lot oilier about six days ago, especially my forehead and between my brows. I didn't even think it had anything to do with the Tonalin until reading this thread. I started taking Tonalin regularly about 10 days ago.

It might be, I've just never noticed it in previous winters.

First of all CLA (Tonalin is a brand name) is Conjugated linoleic acid; an omega-6 fatty acid derived from sunflower oil. It isn't a chemical or anything crazy like that.

Secondly consuming oil doesn't make your skin oily, that's an old wives tale/falacy.
In fact cleaning oily skin WITH oil (a combo of castor and olive oil) will radically decrease oil production.

I'va taken it for years and have really positive results.
It's made my skin ridiculously soft and in general given me a more cut appearance as far as musculature goes.

For the record i'm 37 and have three kids.

God DAMN Sirona! I wish Tonalin did that for me!!!!

For the record, though, I have experienced no ill side affects from taking it. I've been taking 4 pills/day for 3 months.

    LOL

I make a concerted effort to eat well and exercise too.
I really did noticed I looked more defined when taking it than not.

I tend to only take 4 a day too although 6 is recommended.

Holy moly Sirona! I want to do the workouts that you've been doing and eat what you've been eating to look like you!

I've been taking tonalin for over a year, and although it helps with psioriases, I'm not seeing much else
