Georgia has decided they too want to Tax entry into Strip Clubs

This is ridiculous! Already proven unconstitutional when Texas tried the same thing. All the state is doing is making a lot of lawyer $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It may be just another way to regulate strips clubs out of business. The concept sounds noble, but since when did the government give a crap about sex workers of any age?

I think a tax on sex related stuff is in order. As a gun owner, I pay tons of taxes on weapons and ammo, as a smoker (cigars) I pay taxes on the tobacco. As a car owner I pay taxes for gas and car. As an alcohol drinker, I pay taxes on alcohol. And etc..

I think an across the board tax on sex related items/ services would do well and it could be used to pay for rape counseling, and other sex-related programs.

Hmmm... the state senator said there is a link between the ADULT entertainment industry and CHILD prostitution, and that since the ADULT entertainment industry creates the problem, the tax would be a means of them "financing the problem that they created"... bullshit.

I don't see any connection between adults paying to see other adults perform nude (a legal activity) and pedophiles or rapists taking advantage of underaged individuals (illegal activity). That is retarded.

That is the same reasoning behind wanting to fire the school lunchlady for being a former porn star, or people being prohibited from working in certain industries just because they have ties to the adult entertainment industry. It's discrimination. What does being a legal adult entertainer or patron of adult entertainment have to do with kids? I'm pissed.

Taxing tobacco products or chewing gum or a #2 extra value meal from McDonalds or a strap-on dildo (since we're talking about adult entertainment here) is one thing and is understandable, but I think if you're going to tax entry into a strip club, you'd have to tax entry into all other clubs as well or else it's just not fair. Hell I pretty much quit going to regular nightclubs altogether because if I'm wearing a short skirt and some high heels in there, the drunken fools in there can be more lascivious than strip club patrons. AND in my experience I've known underage girls to get into regular clubs quicker than strip clubs (I did it myself a time or two back in my day), which means underage people are more likely to be taken advantage of OUTSIDE of strip clubs than in... whatever.

Like I said its another waste of time and tax payers money. This has already been proven to be unconstitutional because you cannot tax anything dealing with the first amendment. Stripping is protected under the 1st Amendment. So let them throw more money out the window.

As for the sexual abuse crap, yes its crap, and Texas tried to sell the same line of crap to the public yet nothing could be linked to the clubs in any way shape or form. FBI statistics has never shown any link from sexual abuse of childern to strip clubs.

I really just don't agree with the matter-of-fact ending that Georgia will be raising the legal age to 21. So if you're 18-20 in Georgia and you can't afford to move and had no other option for employment, well, add one to the prostitution count.

...sounds like age discrimination against adult prostitutes. I guess they think once you become an adult ho, it's pointless to spend much money rehabilitating. The tricks money is merely paying the pimp tax so might as well regulate it and get some money back. Just a thought.
