Default Do We Have Enough Clubs Yet?

For those who dance in Vegas: how do you feel about the city having so many clubs? In one way its good that there are more clubs but bad in another sense.

When there were only a few clubs around, the money was easy to come by no matter what time of day or night you went in. But now with so many clubs and the economy in the toilet, what's a person to do? Its great to see new clubs when there are those that dare to play the race card game by refusing to hire girls based on the color of her skin instead of her appearance and demeanor but its awfully difficult to make a decent income if the club isn't able to gain the business it needs that will allow all the employees to make money.

What do you think will happen in the next six months? There are clubs that have undergone more than 1 or 2 name changes but that doesn't neccessarily mean an increase of business. Changing management doesn't seem to help either. What really sucks is when a club expects the girls to tip out the mgr when tipping the DJ and paying the housefee are enough; not to mention charging a ridiculous amount just to stay off stage. The only clubs that want extra money from the girls are the ones that don't get enough business.

Do you think some clubs will eventually start closing? It was a little surprising to see Minxx close instead of the small bars around town that have very little business. There are so many clubs now that a number of them don't even try to remain open 24/7.

That's why I am sorta glad a some of them are closing ( I heard eight in the next 6 months). But on the other hand, then they will all pile into the remaining clubs. Plus the girls that still travel will continue to come to the remaining clubs. Le sigh.

Although we would all love for more clubs to get shut down, it is only more and more girls for us. Sapphire was great until Crazy Horse 2 shut down and we got swarmed with lots of their girls.

I still hoped they would open back up so we would have less girls, but all in all we got some of their customers too.

But yeah I do think there are going to be some closures here this year.

I say Bada Bing, Can Can, Rick's, Velvet Lion, Pussy Cat Lounge. These Clubs have struggled for quite some time already even before the economy started to tank. We are going into a depression ( I think we already are in one)and I highly doubt these clubs will make it through '09.

And the only reason I say these clubs is because of manager problems, lack of quality customers and girls, poor marketing/advertising, constant switch of management and/or owners and location problems.

Greeneyedgrl, I couldn't have said it better myself. I've always wondered how places like the Can Can room, Tommy Rockers, that little Platinum something place and Pussycat Lounge even remain open. As we've seen, when clubs keep undergoing name changes like Velvet Lion, the Mile High Club, Sin, Rick's, etc. business is not doing well. I've been saying this is a depression; and since this economic shit storm has so many stores closing and a HUGE variety of businesses doing lay offs, these clubs couldn't possibly survive. Its easy to understand a club increasing the housefee when business is booming but to increase it so they can make money off the girls who aren't even making enough to survive on is insane.

I've danced in Vegas and currently in Seattle. There was a moratorium on new strip clubs for years and that was finally lifted in the past few years. The problem is stripping is very esoteric in these parts. The customers that do frequent the clubs spend but there are not a lot of custys in general.

Basically if there are too many clubs it will ruin dancing in the area. One chain of clubs has a habit of spreading itself thin and no doubt that law was created for them to begin with. Since the ban has been lifted they have opened a new club with plans for another. How many more after that to just ruin the industry in the NW?

I bring it up because I can see in Vegas when there was a demand for clubs they were springing up. Now that the demand is not as strong how will it effect Vegas, Seattle and other areas. The less clubs the better. The nicer clubs are always going to do better not necessarily the most.

Tommy Rocker's...... ahh, i worked there when they first switched over to topless. They're staying afloat due to the fact that it's a neighborhood bar, first and foremost.... They had a cabaret licence for years, but Tommy and Donna switched it over to be able to still have food and smoking - I guess the cabaret licence is what allowed them to do that, vs having to switch to nonsmoking.

As time goes on, are more or less girls coming to Vegas?

I vote more because all the girls here keep talking about going to Vegas. Then again most of the gals down here belong in the Bunny Ranch and not in clubs.
