So, we had new neighbors move in and start renting the house across the street from our house about six months ago. So, I'm guessing that the parents got the kids a freestanding basketball hoop for Christmas because for the past couple of months there has been nonstop noise from their driveway and the street in front of my home. This neighborhood was a bedroom community. People that own houses in this neighborhood go to work and sleep after a hard day (or night). We are accustomed to having kids run around but they usually go to the park a few blocks South. Its very nice. Why can't these new, ghetto-ass, house renting neighbors send their kids to the park with everyone elses. Its really a shame because these kids must be failing out of school as much as they play basketball in the street. Like clockwork, everyday at 3pm they start playing until about 10pm, all day on weekends (8am to 10pm). Ummm, whatever happened to homework?! When I was younger, I came home from school, did my homework, had dinner while my mom watched Oprah and the news, took a bath, watched maybe an hour or so of tv, and then it was time to go to bed and start the routine all over again. Well, now I'm a graduate student with a promising professional life (Thanks Mom!) and these kids are f*ing up my sleep and my studying... and maybe even my health, i swear my blood pressure has increased. What the hell would you do to stop these idiotic kids from playing in the street in front of my home? I was thinking about parking my car in the street in front of the house. Or, evening repaving the driveway (or doing some kind of work on the house) so the trucks will be in the road. Maybe they will get the message and go to the basketball courts/park like all the other kids who's parents care about the market value of their homes....
