Duh Waiting in line for a dance.

I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I switched clubs two months ago which has been AMAZING, best choice I ever made. The last couple of nights I've been pushing myself really hard not to sit with costumers, and it's really paid off! Problem is, there are usually 30 to 40 dancers, and 5 couches. On top of that, the fifth one has a giant speaker next to it, and most the costumers would rather wait for a couch that wont blow out their eardrums. So, for one I'm wasting time during my shift standing in line for sometimes up to 3 songs to get a couch. Then, at the end of the night, when of course EVERYONE wants a dance all at once, music is cut at 2:25, it's impossible. I've noticed a couple girls take guys towards the back of the club to do dances and that is what I did last night but we offer ten dollar table dances, so I'm not sure about still charging 20 [although i did anyway... he was none the wiser]. I don't know what to do!

Ugh I worked in a club like that. Wish I had some advice for you.

Is your manager not aware of this issue? Geez, it sounds to me like it's time for the club to expand!

With the way the club is set up, I don't see how they would expand - and I doubt they would anyway. They don't charge us per song, so I don't think they care anyways. The line is visible from anywhere on the main floor and some costumers don't want to get dances until the line is gone/short. If I did table dances while waiting, I'd loose my spot and probably never get a couch, on Fridays and Saturdays at least. It's pretty rare for there to be an open couch on those shifts. I feel like table dances are my only choice, and I hate table dances! Oh, and there aren't any private spots, really, other than the actual couches, even if you go to the back of the club, you are fairly highly visible, so I can't really sell the privacy thing. Man theres got to be a way

    Your club needs more couches!

At my club there is a line for the VIP on a Saturday night but there are at least 25 couches. Sometimes at the end of the night there is another area where you don't have to fight for a seat. My club is huge and you can dance anywhere you want. Outside the VIP is advertised as a $10 table dance but I still always charge $20 anyway.

Yeah, aside from the more couches thing, table dances are probably your only option.

    Think about it this way:
It's better to do two table dances in two songs ($20 in 2 songs) than to do one couch dance after waiting in line for three songs ($20 in 4 songs).

I would definitely bring the issue up to the manager, though. Even two more couches would make a big difference.
